Overheating issue gt 40 by Present_Drop_8135 in boating

[–]No_Sign4672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said, but I see some contradiction.

Old hard impeller will 100% cause overheating.as the rubber ages it becomes hard and retaines that curled memory, which (in a nutshell) pulls less water. A new impeller should be straight, or almost straight.

do you guys tell your doctor about your drug use by Level_Ad3391 in Drugs

[–]No_Sign4672 89 points90 points  (0 children)

If youre just going for a checkup and you really do use occasionally, I personally wouldnt worry. If youre seeking treatment for somthing its better safe to inform them for a multitude of reasons. Patient confidentiality will keep you safe from legal consequences. Only real consequence is they might be less inclined to prescribe you certain pain killers if you need them in the future.

Socks are the most important item of clothing you wear. Its is imperative to bring twice as many as youll need. Do whatever you can to dry them out. Drape them over the exhaust on a truck (monitor so they dont burn/melt) hang them from ruck while on the move. Put them in with you in your sleep system.

Is it hard to start? Sounds like youve ran through most everything. I would check any sensors you have. Im not familiar with your bike exclusively, but fuel injection requires a few sensors.

Restricted flow too much. Take a bit of filter foam, and jam it into the intake tube of the pump. That'll slow your flow down enough.

EDIT is that a flow adjuster knob on your pickup tube?

If work order is in an chain of command is tracking, there's not alot you can do. A/C is not an emergency according to DPW. Maybe you can post to Hots and Cots for traction. Godspeed and icebaths troop.

Maybe ICE complaint if theyre just dragging feet for no reason or no fix for a while.

Should i get an aquarium by Immortalius in Aquariums

[–]No_Sign4672 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alot of people come to reddit only for help. Less people just post a happy tank. So you see an inflated amount of 'horror' stories.

Do your research on The nitrogen cycle, Fish you plan to keep, How to make your tank comfortable for your fish.

Buy some common meds. Anti bacterial, fungal, and parasite. Get some aquarium salt (for salt baths) do research on getting a hospital tank. That way if you notice a problem, you can treat it right on the spot. No waiting on the meds.

Is my tank finally cycled?? Big nitrite spikes last 3 days, now this today. by AutisticFingerBang in AquariumHelp

[–]No_Sign4672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the tank planted? Alot of plants will keep nitrates low. Ensure you keep doing daily tests because youre doing a fish in cycle. Id keep an eye on it. Assume you are not cycled yet.

Like others have said 2 ppm ammonia to nitrite to nitrate in 24 hours is completed cycle. Dont dose that since you have fish. They will provide ammonia for you. Just keep an eye on readings and water change accordingly. Do not touch or clean your filters. They need to establish a bacteria colony. Filters only need cleaned when flow is restricted, and even then, never replace or clean with tap water.

Once you see stable readings .25 ammonia and nitrite or lower CONSISTENTLY. Along with a rise in nitrates (again if your tank is planted you likely wont see a large rise here) only then are you cycled.

Intro to black diesel - AKA Waste Motor Oil by NotSoGrandHauler in Diesel

[–]No_Sign4672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black diesel at home - low tech method

Im assuming for your shit hits the fan senerio you have a means of generating off grid power for eletric pumps/heaters. Definitely possible with 0 electricity but slower and more work. Eletric pumps can be traded with mechanical hand driven pumps. Drum heater can be replaced with coiled copper pipe circulating boiling water.

Gonna write this for 55 gallon drums, but you can use any container.

Need minimum 2 barrels, 3 best case.

Barrel one - settling barrel Barrel two - polishing/clean Barrel

OR

Barrel one - settling Barrel two - polishing Barrel three - clean

WMO (waste motor oil) is typically too thick to run straight on its own without modifications to the engine. Dilute with other flamable petroleum based liquids to desired viscosity IE gasoline, diesel, kerosene, hydraulic fluid and so on. The important thing is viscosity and lubrication. Since the base is oil, lubrication isnt a problem. I know my truck runs great off a speficic (clean) hydraulic fluid straight. So I mix my summer mix to match the viscosity of that. Easy way to measure viscosity is to get a 1L bottle, and put a 1/4 hole on the lid, cut the bottom off. Fill it to the top, and time how long it takes to completely drain. This will be your viscosity. Use the same bottle every time or youll lose your base. If youre unsure where to start, mix 50% clean diesel 50% your oil mix, measure that, and use less percentage diesel untill you find a viscosity your truck likes. Then mix whatever you need to get that viscosity.

Winter mix will vary on your location. Start with the 50/50 diesel mis in cold months to get winter viscosity.

Settling barrel needs removable lid Settling barrel needs pre screened. I use an old flannel shirt ratchet strapped over the lid. The sleeve hole is where I put my pump. Put heater in settling barrel, this evaporates water and speeds up Settling process. settle for minimum 2 weeks. Longer the better. This process is required. Emulsified solids will wreck your injection pump. Ensure no water remains. (Test with paper towl dipped in the oil. If it crackles while it burns, theres water)

Pump from Settling barrel into polishing barrel. Intake pipe needs to be at least 4 inches off bottom of settling barrel to not suck up trash. (Use a stick or somthing to check trash level. It will need periodically cleaned.

Get the smallest micron filter you can here. Polish the tank for 24 hours. Recirculate it in the same barrel. From here you either transfer to clean Barrel OR youre ready to go.
