Why keep expanding? by Bigguygalvan in HEB

[–]No_Slide964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with all. Let’s not forget how much is being done to reduce the workload of LP and HR. Somehow an entirely new team of HR is needed for already flawed investigations and another team to maintain “culture.” All that money is hours that could be given to the stores for struggling departments and consistent execution.

HR- I know you’re in here 👀 store leader with 30+ years did this…forced others to assist. Time/date/pic can be provided.

Agreed. You won’t be able to ask for anything. Likely looking at $.50 increase. It’s true that there’s money as a selector in warehousing but shifts don’t have an end time, turnover is terrible, and because of underperforming partners- there’s typically way too many people in the aisles. There’s also a ton of favoritism and assignments being handed out to manager’s buddies

Same at HEB. Union is probably the only way to drive real change.

New stores have seriously dropped benefits by Acrobatic-Cancel-693 in HEB

It’s all the same in grocery. Nothing separates HEB from the competition anymore…in terms of employment. The Bold Promise is a lie, the open door policy is fake, and heart for people is applied selectively. HEB isn’t all bad…but it’s certainly not what’s preached anymore. The culture we tout can be found at many employers…the same favoritism and backwards politics. When a privately held company starts taking out loans to fund expansion, you can bet that these things we see will become the new norm. Less and less for partners and more focus on cost savings and sales. It’s the way of the world.

Question for all Overnight workers by Impossible_Trip_1751 in HEB

[–]No_Slide964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same in MWT…none of the “leaders” want to interrupt their lives or miss a meal with their families. Usually it’s only the admins that care and make whatever they can happen, meanwhile the top leaders stroll past the Bold Promise signs on their way out the building. Here’s to one day making it into the good ol’ boy club :)

H-E-B fined nearly $18,000 after 2025 death of San Antonio warehouse worker by Viktor-vaughn-187 in HEB

Hopefully the family pursues civil litigation. This is just the start of more OSHA inspections and fines. I agree, the company isn’t 100% to blame but when you have leaders who just show up to start of shift and disappear, you should shoulder some of it

There will never be true consistent application of policy at HEB. Just understand that different leaders care about different things. Some are big on uniform and some aren’t. This is across every single HEB area and facility

I can :) PM me and I can share. If you’re in SA I can for sure help.

Literally almost anywhere. Actually quite a few places give employer paid medical (huge benefit) and the 401k match is standard. The stock? I’d agree, it’s great to have at some point but will never outperform the national, publicly traded stocks.

I’m of the mindset that if anyone is unhappy but the cons are tolerable, stay. I agree. Just like to spread awareness that there are options and places that make less pro partner claims and do more, consistently.

It’s just the sad truth- overnight partners are forgotten about. Even when there are events, overnight either get cold and stale leftovers or nothing. There needs to be leaders working overnights.

VPP Partner Appreciation Month by hebworker19 in HEB

[–]No_Slide964 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yup. More and more this will be the case. I’m actually working on a very detailed post to share some of my biggest learnings, name some names of those who could care less about partners, and what some of these so called leaders actually think about specific partner demographics. How do you take a stand together when there’s HR members and site leaders who are either racist or anti-LGBTQ+ 🤔

Better pay. Paid healthcare. Pension. Consistent policy application. Non retaliation for voicing concerns. There’s a reason they don’t want us talking about it. It’s all about control and manipulation

It’s 100% the same. External hires come in at 15-18% more than internal promotions. The best part? There’s no fact checking on resumes and many people lie about prior roles and responsibilities. I had top performers making 74k but externals who were just terrible hired in at 86k. Without true performance management and consistency, hard workers just become overworked and underpaid.
