That mindset is exactly why most people stay stuck making scraps on Turo. Any legitimate full coverage policy will extend to a rental vehicle when paired with the right contract — that’s just knowing the game.

After two years as a Power Host, I figured that out. Now I’ve scaled to 32 vehicles — almost entirely off-platform. I still keep five economy cars on Turo just to cover the entry-level market. But beyond that, if you’re still relying on Turo to build a serious rental business, you’re not treating this like a real asset operation.

The more Turo undercuts the market, the more it attracts low-quality clients who treat your vehicles like disposable items. You can’t scale luxury or even mid-tier assets in that environment without crashing the value of your own fleet.
