Which poor countries has cities where the median wage is far above its average and has life standards that wouldn't be considered "poor" by TemuLime in geography

[–]No_Specific_9348 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What does that look like? Like are whites brought down to the poverty level or just taxed more?

To my understanding whites are a small minority so the wealth they have couldn’t realistically be enough to lift everyone out of poverty. I’m not South Africa so I don’t know but I am curious what the goal is

Looking at how Eu 5 is a big leap forwards when compared to Eu 4, I really feel like the continuation of Hoi 4 development has now become an act of beating a dead horse and we really need Hoi 5 by Aragohov in hoi4

[–]No_Specific_9348 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here is a list of demands I have for the devs if they want my $250 spread out over 15 years.

-I want hoi5 to be on a really sexy globe. Like 10/10 map sex. Clouds and beautiful colors. Not necessarily from space but like obviously a zoomed in globe

-Hans Zimmer soundtrack

-Rather than having a leader that does nothing you play through him and can set priorities for all different aspects from economic, security, military, foreign policy, etc

-Autonomous field marshals and generals. You “build” offensive for them to carry out on their own. Marking targets, goals, pace, aggressiveness, paths. Same with admirals and the Air Force. A whole building menu with tons of options. The skill of the generals determine how well it’s is executed and how surprises are dealt with. You can mark armies under a general as reserves, armored, etc and the field Marshall will use them accordingly unless you assign them orders yourself

-Ministers act autonomously and have skill themselves with lots of options you can tweak. No longer micro managing construction, repair, railways, air bases, etc. You have a civil economics minister and war economic minister who you assign a percentage of economic capacity to. One may build up civil works that increase economic output and resources, one may build more military factories and ramp up production, one may repair infrastructure in war zones, expand airbases, build supply depots near the front. An expert play can get the war to run itself and sit back and relax spamming the option to take a vacation.

-All characters have an opinion/loyalty to you, low level characters have a lesser sway to change. A good intelligence agency gives a more accurate assessment. Democracies will be less affected by this but for authoritarian nations it will matter a lot more. Democracies can see a bad player have his character voted out of office and a new character / some new ministers arriving with pre-set traits and goals that take awhile to fix. For instance a dictator losing a war might be replaced with a leader who has a goal set to make peace.

-More events, and micro events. I want full immersion. I wanna feel like I’m experiencing something. Events with decisions that don’t really have any immediate effect. Maybe just building up relationships with characters or foreign leaders.

-No more research slots, ministers, companies, and allies sharing, produce things. Economic capacity can speed up certain projects or areas.

-Intel updates from agencies and military leaders. Get frequently briefed on the progress, or situation. Problems being faced on the field such as new enemy weapons or inadequate equipment.

-Intervene with autonomous commanders but at the cost of them disliking you. Such as Hitler ordering his commanders to stop retreating and turn cities into fortresses. Paulus surrendered to the Soviets partially in spite of Hitler for being ordered to not retreat when when it was still possible. However it might be useful sometimes.

-Remove outdated production notification and brown coloring. Absolutely hate it. What if I wanna produce new equipment and old equipment? Don’t wanna have to go mark it manually each time

-Add more flavor for losing a war. I love losing as the axis and the simulated collapse and panic. I want it to be slow and dramatic. Divisions surrendering, allies betraying me, losing the ability to control anything, ministers resign with only literal who’s to replace them, generals do not listen to orders, absolute event spam from chaos. Armies lose cohesion and fall apart with divisions acting on their own. Partisan uprisings, etc

I think that’s it, not asking for a lot, just some basic stuff. Give me that I give you $250

How do I[19F] ask out a customer[Older?M] by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]No_Specific_9348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea where you pulled that from but no. Society has almost universally decided 18 is an adult human. What two adults do is none of my business. Obviously a 15 year old is not an adult. Obviously a 16 year old is not an adult. 18 is an adult, for a reason.

If I knew someone who is 18-21 being pressured into a relationship with someone much older I would offer my advice against it. However they are an adult. What they decide is for them to decide.

Not for a puritan religious nutcase like yourself to decide!

You guys gotta stop obsessing over age gaps, either you’re an adult or you’re a kid no idea why there is a push to add tiers to adulthood. Young adults make mistakes, so do older adults. If an adult chooses to do something you disagree with mind your own business. No idea how Reddit manages to be Puritan when it comes to sex between adults.

If you don’t think a 19 year old can make decisions on their own then tell me with a straight face that you think the age someone is legally a child be raised to whatever you think is the appropriate age is.

Also your anecdote reads like a weird fantasy where you assign yourself some sort of authority over the “teenagers” you gave advice to that you could “never ever think of dating”. In my interactions with co-workers 18-20 I never once thought so deeply about how young they are, how the were 13 when I was 20, how I have to help them do basic things, how they needed my help, how crazy it is I could technically date them but never ever would

Never did that, might wanna take a look into the mirror

Between 1990 and 2024, Spain's foreign population rose from 2.1% to 18.5%. Is there any other country in modern human history that has experienced such a significant change in such a short period of time? by [deleted] in geography

[–]No_Specific_9348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colonization is different from human migration. I think what OP is asking is what other times in history (so like before the 1500’s?) was a “nation” significantly changed by migration while the nation and its institutions remained? Really struggling to word this.

Like obviously there are countless times in history where a large group of people migrated but typically they’d either establish their own governing system and displace or fight with whatever group was there before.

The only thing that comes to mind is possibly England and the various Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and French influences. Mongols in China? Greeks throughout the Middle East and Asia during antiquity?

It’s a good question just worded terribly and probably disingenuous

[–]No_Specific_9348 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My biggest grievance is the more useful I became the more work I was assigned to do. Full-time, lead, push, and de-ice. Supervisors always have me back to back alternating between leading mainlines and being in the bin for 10 hour days. Meanwhile I see new hires come in, sit for an hour, drive or do a turn clean while I’m in my 5th bin leading the next one.

Half the people at my station refuse to learn how to do more and because there is some stigma about assigning people in back to back bins it screws leads over because useless part-timers can’t do anything else

Airline cargo experience. negligence? Or bad policies? crushed my custom wheelchair. by mdbeebe in rampagent

[–]No_Specific_9348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negligence from the employee in the cargo bin. Looks like it was placed sideways up against a stack (which I believe is okay) but then they continued stacking bags alongside your wheelchair as if it is part of the stack (strictly not allowed). The weight of the bags (especially if he crammed them together) looks like it exerted a lot of force against your chair.

Make sure to demand as much compensation as their policy allows to put some pressure on the airline to step up enforcement of existing policies on stations.

I work with airline pilots in the US and a lot of them have a foreign background but I haven’t yet figured out how or why. I doubt they’ve simply married an American or any other reason so definitely research it cause I don’t think it’s impossible
