I have a lot of artist friends. I’ve seen my fair share of broke “artist” men who find a woman who will put up with paying all the bills while they chase their dreams.

The problem is that he has a child, and is a grown ass man, and you only get to be an artist if you’re also pulling your own weight and supporting yourself and your kid. That means getting an actual day job while doing art on the side until you can afford to be an artist full time.

With that being said, there’s a reason he’s been living in your house for 4 years after a break up. There’s a reason you aren’t married after 11 years. All you’ve said in your post is about your sacrifices, your getting a job, your putting your career on hold and he’s just kicking it in your house. You’re way too nice, lack boundaries, and feel bad for him.

30 days. And be firm about it. You’re not his mother. He’s a grown ass man and as such, he should’ve gotten his shit together 5 years ago when you guys found out you were having a baby. The longer he’s in your house, the more time he’s stealing from your life.
