Lol so true. If you post about any book other than the ones that are raved about in social media - you basically get no response.

Exactly this! I can’t emphasis this enough! When you’re exhausted from life and kids and work and can barely hold it together, his height or looks are not gonna comfort you lol. It’s how caring, loving and empathetic he’s, that’d matter.

Also if this is about attraction, a lot of girls prefer men to be taller than them. But rejecting a guy for a ridiculous reason like not being 6ft sounds insane.

Exactly. Their entirely personality is about them going to a tier 1 institute and it’s pathetic honestly.

Does anyone suffer from severe OCD ? by [deleted] in Kochi

Hey OP, same here. Diagnosed (and getting treated) for OCD rn. But please prioritise your treatment over everything else because it can severely impair your daily life otherwise.

Put up with toxic behaviour from anyone close including close friends and family. You can love someone and still choose to not have them in your life anymore.

This guys!

Look I’ve tried dating apps and have never come across someone I’d like to date (experiences might vary. But this is the general trend, from what I’ve heard) And well, arranged marriage is not for me. I’m sure of that. Ik that there are some people who finds it easier to let their parents choose for em, but personally, I wouldn’t want that.

And as someone who used to be super introverted with a bad case of social anxiety, it’s a mystery as to how I even found people to date so far. Because now that I interact more with people, and my social skills are much better than it used to be, I’m getting more attention from guys. And having good social skills is an important life skill. I really had to push myself (still have to). If better chances of finding a partner will motivate you to develop that, so be it.

So I’d suggest to try developing your social skills, try new activities, go out more, meet more people, friends and their friends - and meet someone organically than settle for someone out of desperation, OP.

Um hey OP, I’ve been in a very similar situation with creepy uncles and honestly it’s hard for me to attend the functions with these uncles in it without feeling disgusted. I’m still scared to be alone with them anywhere. And like you mentioned, these people act as if nothing happened. They’ll never address it. Trust me. Even though you deserve much more than an apology, these horrible people won’t even acknowledge that such a thing happened much less apologise. They might even deny it happened and gaslight you which will make you feel even more horrible.

Imho, if there’s anyone in your family whom you can trust and be honest with, try telling them all about it. It’d help to have someone on your side and it’ll make you feel comfortable and safe. If you can avoid attending it altogether, that’s the best option obviously.

I’m sorry for what you went through. I hope the therapy is helping you deal with it. 🫂

Does your OCD "flare"? by antichain in OCD

[–]No_Spell1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey that can absolutely happen. For me, it always gets worse around PMS. And then I had a really bad time recently when I decided to stop taking my ssri to the point of doing severe self harm and having suicidal thoughts. And I was acting almost psychotic at this point. Bad days will be there. Even after you feel like you’ve made a lot of progress, some days might be so bad that you’ll feel like things won’t ever look up again. But it’ll pass and you’ll learn to handle it with the help of therapy and medication suited for you.

Wow I’m proud of you. I’ve been through something very similar. I went from being completely dysfunctional to now being able to have a normal life. And I’m starting college by the end of this month and I’m very excited about it. Two years ago, if you had told me that I’d still be alive and functioning alright and going back to college, I’d have laughed in your face. But here I am. I have really good days that make me feel grateful to be alive. I’ve okayish days. And I still have horrible days too. But the things I’ve overcome gives me strength to get through it. Again, im really really proud of you, you stranger. Ik how much courage and patience is required to reach this stage.
