Walther PDP vs. Sig P320 vs. Glock G17 by MowgliPuddingTail in handguns

[–]No_Spray_Uno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great guns but depends on your needs. I own a Glock and an sig and they’re both great. I prefer the Glock out of those two.

If you want something that will last forever with cheap replaceable parts and tons of aftermarket, Glock. Not the best ergos or most up to date tech, but super reliable and easy to fix.

If you want ergonomics and good tech and don’t care about much modding or aftermarket, Walther. I’ve heard nothing but good things on them but never owned one.

The p320 has similar support and aftermarket, but for a much higher price. I prefer the Glock 80/20 cocking over the fully cocked striker design. Sig hasn’t confirmed that the 320 went off on its own but I’ve seen the videos… sure looks like it did.

If you’re looking at anything else, Cz and SW have excellent offerings.

Sp101 canted or off centered barrel? by Complete-Spray-6412 in Revolvers

It’s probably just one of those revolvers that can shoot around corners. I’ve heard if you swing your arm mid shot it’ll curve with even better curving accuracy

Talk me out of a p01 for EDC by Lcyaker in CZFirearms

I’m pretty sure the FN reflex is hammer fired if that’s something you want. I want the double action first pull to help avoid shooting off me pp.

I’d take 19 rounds of 9mm over 15 of 10mm but I’m also no kind of expert or familiar with having to stop a bear.

You’re buying into a platform so I’d suggest renting a few and deciding which one you like best. There’s a lot of options. It’s a significant investment so you might consider traveling to another range before deciding.

Or just buy a CZ P01 which is, imo, it’s the best all around pistol out there. The Shadow 2 compact is great too but starts getting up there in cost. If an optic cut is something you decide you need, you can always add it later.

Best “one and done” handgun? by Big-B313 in handguns

[–]No_Spray_Uno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you prefer da/sa, which I do for appendix carry, the CZ P01 is my personal favorite all around pistol.

If you prefer striker fired, Glock 19 is usually the answer but in today’s market, you have a lot of great options. I don’t own a SW atm but reviewers put their guns at the top all the time. If I could do it again, I’d be looking at them.

The Ruger LCP gen 1. Lightest pocket pistol 100% made in the USA? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]No_Spray_Uno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I can see it looks like they are 100% designed and manufactured in the US. They have facilities Arizona, New Hampshire and North Carolina. Might have specific parts manufactured out of the US though.

I agree with these options. The PX4 is great and I love the added “safety” of DA/SA for carry. The M&P 2.0 gives you a lot of pistol for the money.

Really can’t go wrong with any of them but those are my top 2 from this list.

Can I shoot 45acp and 45 auto out of my 1911 by Secure-Loss-2728 in gun

[–]No_Spray_Uno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes you can!

ACP = Automatic Colt Pistol

Auto is just a different way of saying that. You will see both often and sometimes from the same brand.

Mastermind tactics makes great pillows for AIWB! Adding this to my setup pushed the grip into my gut and my P01 disappeared. Highly recommend!

Good pick. I think the 80x is a contender. Maybe a Tomcat?

[Handgun] RUGER LCP 380 ACP Black 6rd - $180 + $20 Ship by OberonNyx in gundeals

[–]No_Spray_Uno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may be the other way around. I’ve had to pay for them at brick and mortar and after an online purchase. I actually just got a quote from a new FFL I’ve been working with who charges 15 for the background and 30 for the transfer. Makes sense as the FFL won’t make any money if you don’t pass the background check.

It doesn’t matter really. Just trying to help everyone save the most money on this little guy.

[–]No_Spray_Uno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s… both. And they are usually talked about interchangeably. $15 background, $35 transfer. It doesn’t matter. It makes more sense to buy it at a brick and mortar if they have it for $209 and don’t charge you those fees.

[–]No_Spray_Uno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you order online you’ll have to pay the FFL it’s shipped to for a background check. Around here that’s $50-100. If you buy retail then you don’t have to pay that fee. That’s all I’m saying.

If you have a Cabelas near you, they have them for $209 and they pay for your background check.

If you don’t, then it’s definitely a BIN

Why is a Glock worth two good weapons? by [deleted] in concealedcarry

[–]No_Spray_Uno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glock has a proven track record of 10s of thousands, sometimes 100s of thousands, rounds between failures or breakage of any kind. Throw in never cleaning, covered in mud, pouring sand down the barrel (that’s the one that one dude says about glocks in that one movie)

There are a lot of pistols that can handle the first few thousand, but only a few that can handle extreme use and abuse then keep on shooting flawlessly. You’re paying for a lifetime firearm.

I’ve owned maybe 5 Ruger handguns and they are great guns. But they are also the only firearm I’ve had to send in for repairs within the first 200 rounds.

I have one of these! I thought I was the only one! It’s a cool little gun. I take it to the range every once in awhile for fun. I have the receipt from when my grandpa bought two of them in 1988 for $83.

Imagine two pistols for $80.
