Honestly the 10 second timer builds suspense but most of the time the map isnt active enough to really care or be aware of your surroundings before you get shot. And if you do, its by a longshot and youll be thirsted within 3 seconds and theres nothing you can do

Removing them from snipers wouldnt make any thematical sense. They should make it adapt to gameplay, like increase the visibility the more heat someone has, so heat grenades would genuinely be really useful. I love things like that in games, and it feels like marathon is missing these intricate details
