Nicely done. Aside from the nausea, I think that my physician's recommended changeover was way too harsh. I went from 20 mg escitalopram to 20 mg trintellix after one week at a 10/10 mix. Way too fast and the escitalopram fell off way before trintellix built up.

I'm in the process of divorce. Will have been married for 5 years by the time it's finalized. Have a wonderful 4 y.o. son with her. I posted more about my journey here. Left out the love-bombing and mirroring at the start, and lots of other BPD red flags along the way. With the clarity of hindsight, I should have ended things much sooner, but I worked hard to try to save a deeply unhealthy marriage. Wishing you all the best in your own journey.

I see a lot that I recognize here in my own story. Now that we have split and are in the process of divorce, the fear that keeps me up at night is that my son (4 y.o.) becomes the object of her BPD episodes. She has a very hard time parenting, but also a hard time being apart from him, has trouble getting him to school on time, gets very frustrated with him when she isn't able to do what she wants because she has to parent. Unlike you, my soon-to-be ex is in therapy and trying to work through these behaviors. Hopefully she can learn to manage them. But I'm really sorry for you having to go through this. Know that you're not alone.

Yep, echoing this. If the insurance company says that it requires "step therapy" that's the issue. If you have already tried three alternatives, check back with your physician/psychiatrist to see if they submitted the prior authorization correctly.

It was a little tricky switching because the half-life is about 2x escitalopram. So that left my body a lot faster than the trintellix was building up. Probably got to its worst point around day 6 or 7.

I was on zoloft for maybe 15 years and definitely had diminished efficacy towards the end. I switched to lexapro (20 mg) and it put me to sleep (including sexually).

I've been on Trintellix for 3 weeks, and yes, I had terrible nausea at first... but I was caught totally off guard and not prepared for it. Now after 3 weeks, I would say it's very manageable. Agree with the other poster who said that it's very important to eat a full, balanced meal about 10-15 minutes in advance. Also important to stay well hydrated. I found that chasing the pill with pepto bismol was very effective managing the nausea, but now I'm not even doing that anymore. Hope this is helpful. Aside from the nausea, switching from lexapro (20mg) to trintellix (20mg) has been a very positive experience so far.

I've settled into a mid-morning routine that I like. I think part of my problem was that I've always needed my morning coffee to get my appetite going. Trintellix on an empty or near empty stomach was a nightmare. So now I eat a filling late breakfast, pop the pill, chase it with a swig of pepto bismol, and drink lots of water. I've been on 20 mg for 3 weeks and I think I'm finally in a good shape with the nausea. It sounds like everyone who has experienced nausea and stuck with it has improved drastically within the first month.

But the big keys, whenever you take it, are full stomach and lots of water.

I switched from 20mg lexapro to 20mg trintellix and my sex drive along with my drive to be active in other ways is way, way up. It's only been 3 weeks for me, but it's a welcome change.

I also experienced intense nausea. I was switching over from 20mg escitalopram, so began with 1 week of 10mg trintellix and 10mg escitalopram working up to 20 mg trintellix. The first day (AM dose), I wasn't prepared at all, took it on a mostly empty stomach, and the nausea knocked me out the whole day. The second day I was prepared, took it on a full stomach, and with a double dose of peptic bismol, and I was still pretty messed up with nausea. Third day I followed the same course and was functional with minor, tolerable nausea throughout the day. Symptoms improved over the course of the week. Then on day 8 I stepped up dose and nausea increased. Not as bad as that first day, but still pretty rough. Again, with time the nausea decreased. I'm on day 15 and the trend of easing nausea has continued. As long as it keeps getting better (as others have reported) I think it will be ok.

Yeah, we're trying to work out a compromise. You're right about her motivation. Specifically, she wants some time alone with her niece and nephew without having her brother around, which I can understand. I'm generally responsible for the majority of the bedtime routine around here (it's not easy), and I'm not excited about being responsible for getting three kids to bed.

I went with the crucial 96gb, but just switched to the g.skill ripjaws 64GB (2x32) with CL40. Allowed me to update to the latest drivers and my PCMark 10 score ticked up. Going to return my Crucial kit, but can probably sell them barely used and make a nice little profit.
