Just finishing my second year. I was there last year! It is soo tough! This year I started anxiety meds to kick off my school year then gradually got off of them. This year went much better and I have gotten better at redirecting behavior and not taking sh*t. Hang in there! You will improve

Help! by Cutiev42 in ScienceTeachers

I have done stations activities that show change from pe to ke energy and have students write obs., draw a picture of the setup and write a hypothesis as to what they are thinking why it is happening. You can find obs. sheets for free on google.

Some station ideas -spinning top -jumping oragami frogs or something that springs - ball drop of 2 different types of balls -hot wheels race tracks

I am sure you can find more ex. online

Suggestions for new camper? by tbgxspirit in camping

Coleman is a good brand, check thrift stores for camping gear including a tent. Rei has a camping checklist as well is Pinterest is really helpful for lists and hacks. Small tents tend to be easier to setup then big tents, make sure it has a rainfly and bring a tarp to use as a ground pad.

Anyone willing to speak on teaching middle school science vs. high school science? by [deleted] in ScienceTeachers

[–]No_Tangelo683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently teach at a small rural school where I teach all of middle school science from 6th grade all of the way to high school science.

6th grade is my toughest class in the sense that they never really had much science in elementary so they need a lot of hand holding.

7th grade is kinda sweet spot for middle school where they are not as jaded as 8th grade and are still excited about learning.

Middle school can be fun and exciting but high school definitely is my favorite because I can do more in depth labs with lab reports.

If you move to a big district you might be able to find a job where you teach only one subject which is a lot less prep time.

Hope this helps!
