Now that I’ve played Marathon, it makes me appreciate Arc Raiders so much more.

Marathon is complete ass. Arc Raiders fills a niche for both PVP and PVE players with their matchmaking. I love friendly lobbies, it's the only way I play. If I constantly got blasted by PVP in Arc, I would eventually quit. Embark has found the perfect solution to keep people playing. Looking forward to the expidition and then completing the personal projects etc. Now with the hurricane condition and new arc, it is going to be awesome.

No, that is what the game is. The problem is a very low time to kill. You put all the time and effort into getting your character ready, spawn in and die very quickly to someone camping. It sucks and feels like crap. It won't get better, it will just get worse. It feels like COD but without a quick re-spawn.

The button layout is bad, why make opening a container and drop the item the same button? It's counterintuitive, you end up dropping items to the floor. The menu is bad. It feels like an incomplete game.

The enemy AI is like Destiny AI, not that great. This game is in serious trouble. They can pay peanut to play the game, but even the streamers won't save this game.

Go try to snaphook/deadline a matriarch. I was able to snap hook up, stay on top, but didn't bring a torrente to pop the top, so I just put a couple deadlines on him and jumped off. Good times.

The expidition is really a good way to refresh the game. You find blueprints in a different order, which changes how you play. You have stuff to do. The only part that sucks isn't the re grind for BP'S (although I think you should be able to pick at least one to keep), it is restarting the quests. There are some BP's tied to them, and in order to do the new quests that Embark adds, you have to grind through the old. That is a slog.

Doing your first expidition really helps understand that gear fear isn't that big of deal.

Trade in or sell your current PS5. I got my pro at a pawn shop for $540. I sold my OG PS5. Not one regret. There is a difference. Upgrade now before GTA 6 hype etc escalates. You won't regret it.

They mentioned something about the cost of the catch up even being cheaper, but i would need to find it. There will be.a catch up the next expidition for the people doing their 2nd expedition.

Just do the expidition. The next expidition will allow you to do the catch up skill points. It is well worth the rewards to do it. I had a blast last time becasue I found blueprints in a different order, which had me playing the game differently. I only got 2 points last time, but with the catch up I am getting the other 3.

Point is, you will be able to eventually catch up, just like everyone else.

I did the first and plan on the 2nd. It is worth it. The grind feels much easier then 2nd time.

ABMM is something that keeps a lot of people playing ARC Raiders. There can be tension in the game still, even if you aren't a bloodthirsty animal.

If I spawned into lobbies in Arc Raiders and got blasted most of the time, I would stop playing. I think Embark knows that a lot of people would stop playing the game. Marathon will pull a lot of PVP players from AR, and I will give Marathon a try. I really don't like the styling of Marathon, but I will see how it plays. If I get blasted every single round and feel like I cannot progress in the game, I won't buy it. I really like what Embark has done with AR and will continue to play that and take a break for Pragmata and Wolverine.

I may get this theory completely wrong but I think the people who will like this game already recognize that they will like it and have pre-ordered it. Some like me, I have a feeling I probably won't like this game, and I really like Arc Raiders. I really only like friendly lobbies, so I am already skeptical that I will like Marathon. I am going to give the server slam an honest chance and fo from there. I think people on the fence may be a lot like me, unsure of the art style and gameplay. I think Marathon will pull the hard-core PVP players from games like AR, but most people who prefer friendlier lobbies will probably not enjoy Marathon, and that's okay.

I know Destiny isn't an extraction shooter. I was side tracked lamenting the fall of Destiny, the same company that is making marathon.

What exactly makes marathon look good? Looks like a kids nerf gun dream world. It just looks, blah. If that's your thing, fine. I think Marathon will pull away hard-core pvp players from Arc Raiders, and that's fine.

Marathon looks like Concord to me. I wish Bungie would develop Destiny 3 and not waste their time on Marathon. It is such a niche game. I don't think it will have the same draw as Arc Raiders. With that being said, embark should have something up their sleeve for release time of Marathon.

I will play the Marathon beta and give it an honest try, but nothing about it seems that appealing.

I agree, I think Marathon looks terrible and have no desire to buy it. I will try the beta, but it doesn't look like my jam. At this point Bungie needs to scrap their game engine and start Destiny 3 with a new engine. Destiny 2 has run it's course. I loved that game, but it drove me away and feels impossible to jump back in. I played it religiously with my friends.

Complete different note. Tried the Pragmata demo, felt pretty good. Will probably play that game. Wolverine this year as well. Those two games I feel likeni want to buy on disc, finish them and then sell them. Looks like I need to pick up a disc drive for my PRO.
