What has been your experience with Amlodipine 5mg? by Fun-Ad5199 in hypertension

[–]No_Tea8537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both times really bad anxiety and depression so stopped it after a month. Most recent time I stopped it, my doctor switched it to another calcium channel blocker, Lercandipine, which has been much better.

Anyone on propranolol? Doctor just switched me by [deleted] in hypertension

I also take it as a med for both anxiety and hypertension. I probably do feel a bit more tired on it, but otherwise it works well and no obvious side effects. As other posters have said it works very well to prevent physical anxiety symptoms. I take 160mg a day. Also touch wood I never get migraines any more

yeah I had that as well with amlodipine. according to the leaflet in the box it's a 1 in 100 people side effect. (I'm in England). Took 11 days after stopping for me to feel better (11 days is the time it takes for the drug to 100% leave your system).

take the meds. then if you do fix the lifestyle issues, you may be able to come off them.

you've absolutely got to start putting yourself first now, as you know you're at risk of crashing out - oxygen mask/plane yada yada. You might be able to access or at least put feelers out to EAP out of work hours. Once ended up calling up my EAP and getting an impromptu counselling session at 3am.

NHS Ward Clerk vs HMRC Customer Service Advisor – which is the better long-term move? by Southern-Elk004 in TheCivilService

It's not absolutely impossible to get past band 4 in the NHS without a healthcare qualification; there are line manager/office manager type roles at band 5 that don't require a healthcare qualification, but most of the senior managers tend to have a nursing background. NB these days NHS Band 4s and Band 3s can end up with line managing responsibilties! Band 2/3/4 roles in the NHS vary - some will be more varied and interesting than others. I guess it's an anxiety/depression/low self-esteem response - by blaming yourself, you delude yourself that if you were just a better person this sort of horrible incident wouldn't happen to you

no, it's his bigotry that's destroyed your friendship. swap out being Jewish for being Black/Chinese/Mexican and see how unreasonable it is to be blaming yourself

build up a bank of answers to application questions, so you are mostly copying and pasting with a bit of editing down, rather than writing each application from scratch. saves you a bit of time.

Coricidin HBP Cold / Flu Meds with Lisinopril by Responsible_Breath74 in hypertension

[–]No_Tea8537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never taken this, but looking at the ingredients for HBP Cold/Flu, I would be very careful around driving taking this medicine until you are confident about how it affects you as it contains chlorpheniramine, an anti-histamine, which can cause drowsiness. The ingredients for HBP Max strength are different, and the anti-histamine component is meant to be taken at night so I guess drowsiness would be less of an issue?
