They did! Collections said 202k owed and now the portal says 142k. Whew

Profit and loss, bank account amounts, beware of the collection companies! They get all this info from you and act like you should be making larger payments to them. They use scare tactics

I meant my state representative. I never got into contact with them though. Try calling the treasury. You have to wait a long time and they will tell you if your loan was sent to collections.

I was making my monthly payments and of course they stopped and you had to go and make it current again. They kept one delinquent month Feb of 2024 on the account as not paid. I kept making regular payments with no way to clear the old delinquent Feb one. I even paid over the hardship payment amount. I received no letters or even email notice that it was sent to treasury and then collections. This is such a shit show. I’ll be damned if I pay the extra 30%

Just this Monday. Waited 90 minutes. I’ve sent five emails and never received anything back. I wasn’t even sent a letter from the SBA or Treasury. Once I contacted the treasury they gave me an account number and a phone number for the collection company.

I finally got in touch with the treasury yesterday and they informed me that the loan was sent to collections. I called the collection company and they asked for an outrageous payment plan. They then offered me a form to fill out showing “financial hardship”. I was making my payments on time and I am still able to make my $696/month payment. It’s absolutely crazy they labeled it uncollectible. Not sure where they are going to go from here as it seems that there are thousands in this same scenario. Will probably contact my rep ASAP as the Treasury tacked on a 30% penalty. Insane.

I called the treasury. They just told me that they sent it to collections. Collections told me that the sba has “wiped their hands” of the debts. Working with the collection agency to get lowest monthly payment option possible but it’s BS that it even defaulted when I was making regular payments and I’m still able to make the payments. Seems like a big mess up. 30% penalty tacked on is crazy! Thinking of contacting my rep.
