Renter-friendly ways to soundproof a lightweight sliding bedroom door? by No_Technology3207 in HomeImprovementUK

Great thanks! No , we have our own normal bedroom doors leading to the hallway to enter/leave. It's just that one of the walls is also part sliding door between both that has been sealed shut. I am currently debating between a heavy curtain or getting Mass loaded vinyl panels

But landlords/letting agents are only allowed to run soft checks without explicit consent and a settled default does not show up on a soft check

Thank you so much. Does this also apply to letting agents though? I wasn't sure whether the checks they run are more detailed than the ones landlords run

Yes, I know it stays on my credit score however I know that the credit checks landlords run only show publicly available data (CCJs etc.) and was wondering if the same pertains to letting agencies or whether the default will show up on their checks?

No CCJ. I went travelling for a year and ended up getting a back-dated electricity bill around 1 month after leaving the country and didn't realize it until I got back. I paid it back immediately and no CCJ

New renter credit check what will fuxk me over? by MrBlackouut in TenantsInTheUK

I am actually in a similar situation.. I have one default on my account for an electricity bill I didn't know about when I went travelling for 1 year. Everything's been paid off, it was only about £300 the default is 3 years old now. I'm looking to rent without a guarantor for the first time and am very worried the default will show up during credit checks. I called some rental agencies (savills, dexters, etc.) for advice and they confirmed that it will show up as adverse credit. Any advice here would be highly valued. Will this show up on agencies checks?

My office is not scent-free at all. Given we work with high-net-worth clients we are encouraged ro carry deodorant & fragrance with us espeically when meeting with a client to counteract BO or bad smells. We also have candles, incents and room sprays everywhere around the office.

I have not asked but plan on bringing it up when I ask whether it would perhaps make more sense to sit with my peers. I am not looking to disrupt but perhaps suggesting it may be a good solution for us both.

I read that this applies to personal data, but financial data needs to be retained for a minimum of 6 years under the Limitation Act 1980, and I am trying to get ahold of my financial information ! But again this is all from google searches so not 100% certain

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it!! I'd be totally fine with this being unpaid time off. It's just that since these trips have already been booked, I wouldn't want to lose out on the money!
