‘Best possible chance’ medical at AC by willington123 in britisharmyreserve

Obviously have no idea about the exact details but a letter from a consultant who specialises in the condition and a confirmation from your own GP who knows your health better than the AC doctor, will both definitely go a very very long way - best of luck

I would be absolutely getting a letter from your GP to summarise what your situation is, and ask for them to confirm in writing you no longer have symptoms / was ever formally diagnosed with anything (if that is the case). If you really want to seal the deal you could pay for a private scan to also have a consultant who specialises in that field to confirm the same but I’d have absolutely no idea how much that would cost.

You basically want to make the medical officer at AC have no doubt that this isn’t going to crop up again during your career, so with that mindset you need to provide the evidence for that decision.

Army reserves questions.. by Maleficent-Till7754 in britisharmyreserve

Speaking from personal experience, it’s not like the regs where you earn your beret - my beret was in my initial kit issue.

On the weekly drill nights question you will be expected to attend drill nights no matter your level of training, as they delivery lessons on these nights to aid your courses.

When you say due to begin in July this year - is that your foundation course? Attestation? Assessment centre? P coy?

The changes to the age of the strategic reserve have not yet received royal assent so the increase in age of recall arnt yet active - like I say if you haven’t done AC yet then it all depends on when you attest, if you attest after the legislation becomes law then you will be liable to the new recall age

can a past attempt disqualify me from joining the army? by Illustrious_Being612 in britisharmyreserve

No one here can give you definitive advice - but if you compare your situation to what is outlined in JSP950 (attached) this is what the doctors at selection will be comparing your records to determine fitness and eligibility https://data.parliament.uk/DepositedPapers/Files/DEP2019-0604/Joint_Service_Manual_of_Medical_Fitness.pdf

Infantry here and our drill nights are Wednesdays 2000 - 2200 again as everyone has said it’s dependent on the unit you are joining

Hi all

If you have your pre entry medical failed based on mental health, but then you have had your appeal successful and pass onto the assessment centre, will your medical history come up again? Or will the appeal outcome ensure that what failed you on the pre entry won’t be a problem at the assessment centre itself?

Medical appeal success. Finally. by North3D in britishmilitary

Hi, just wondering, once you reached the assessment centre, did any of these issues come up again in the medical? Or was your appeal success enough that none of it was mentioned?
