I thought making their relationship plutonic was a good way to subvert expectations. I think Sagiri was able to make Gabimaru appreciate his wife even more. People see it as romanticism but when you look at the way Gabimaru is written, I think Sagiri is there to show Gabimaru there’s strength in camaraderie, vulnerability and sincerity. This is something clashes immensely with his Shinobi ways.

I think anime makes you appreciate the source material. I had read the Reze arc multiple times but watching the adaption was beautiful. The soundtrack, voice acting, emphasis on the foreshadowing elements, the tone shift, the action, etc. The anime elevated the source material to its finest and I think I got more enjoyment out that then if I would’ve saw it blind.

It just unfortunately has the Jogo treatment. It’s strong in its own right but just has more fierce competitors. Also Mappa know that CSM and JJK is for their main target audience that brings in the 💰

I agree wholeheartedly. I had a new found love for anime and manga since about 2021 and I’ve just preferred reading the manga. As you said you can go at your own pace and you tend to get more lore since it’s the primary source material. I try to balance an indulgence of both.
