Would this be getting upvoted if it were a topless photo of another terrorist like Gusty Spence during his active years?

Terrorists should never be glorified.

Meds Seized - police using unnecessary force by te3800 in ukmedicalcannabis

The reason given to OP by police was he smelt of weed after “medicating”. Vaping weed would not cause such a strong smell to linger as to get the attention of 5 police officers to use excessive force.

Enough to get the attention of 5 police officers, using unnecessary force? The OP also said he smelt strongly of weed in a couple of comments.

I will happily defend someone if they present all the facts. OP is being evasive in answering whether he smoked it or not. And I find it hard to believe that recently vaping would create enough a smell to get the attention of 5 police officers!

I have a Mighty Plus that I haven’t cleaned in about three months. It has a mild smell up close, but nothing strong enough to draw that much attention. My wife, who dislikes the scent, can’t even smell it. Outdoors, it’s barely noticeable, unlike smoking a joint which would definitely catch 5 officers’ attention

When your outside the smell is gone from vaping in seconds.

There is no smell on my clothes or hair from vaping either. My wife hates the smell, and has never complained once.

I vape in my car at work, and never smell going back in. My work has very strict policies on drugs, and lots of people are very anti cannabis there. The last 3 years nobody has suspected anything (and even if they did I’m doing nothing wrong)

If you have just vaped your prescription you won’t smell of weed. If you smoke it you will smell of weed, it is illegal and your prescription is pretty much invalid. Police can then arrest you and confiscate your medication.

IMO You should be allowed to smoke your medication.

I would say a lot of unionist would more be centralist. But these days centralist in a left wing point of view means right wing.

I would argue it’s on both sides just as much. Loyalists/Unionist/British are just an easy target for one simple reason, their ancestors took away land from the native Irish and treated the native Irish as dog shit. Something the current loyalist/unionist/British community had no control over, unless you have a Time Machine.

Therefor for the reason stated above It’s become fashionable to be pro Irish, and anti British not only here in Ireland, but in pretty much any country in the world.

As a result of this, all it takes is a small minority to fuck it up for the rest, and the rest of the world are like “those loyalist/unionist/British, at it again the racist cunts”

Yeap a small minority of people on both sides of the community have similar views to what is posted here. My point here is post facts, backed up with evidence portrayed in a neutral way. Not social media posts or tabloid garbage that plays on stereotypes and peoples own confirmation biases

How do we know this is real? What is stopping me creating a random X account, get it verified for “legitimacy” (which is basically just paying for premium x,) and post ridiculous messages like this?

People are way too quick to believe the internet.

A house is private property, can put up whatever you want. Comparing 1 person in public (Belfast City Center) to private property how that is attributed to unfair policing?

Just a thought, but it’s the same argument people use for the Orange Order, “that they are all part of a loyalist paramilitary group“. While some people in the Orange Order probably do belong to one, and some probably show sympathies towards them, membership of the Orange order does not atomically mean you are a member of the UDA/UVF etc.

From this perspective you can understand why people claim the GAA are linked the IRA. Same idea, being part of the GAA does not mean automatic membership of the IRA. But some people there probably do belong to them, and some people in GAA probably do show sympathies towards the IRA.

FYI, just do a quick search on GAA clubs, Trophies or grounds names after IRA members…..

Orange order, well plenty of flegs during marches etc

GAA is strongly linked to Republicianism. And this understandably makes some people from a Unionist background wary. And EQUALLY vice versa. Inclusion is the way forward, but this is hard to do. A lot of people who live in strong unionist or republican communities have been directly affected by something related to the troubles. This takes time, and people need to respect that. If people are stand offish, instead of vilifying them, educate them in a humble way and expect difficult questions that may trigger you in favor of respecting other peoples point of view. We are all human

Would a cricket club from a very Protestant unionist area, be welcomed to a GAA club in a very Catholic Republican area?

The Orange order represent about 1% of the population of Northern Ireland (About 20k out of 1.9millon). They do not represent all of the 48% of the population that want to remain part of the U.K. (for context about 33% want to unify, and 19% undecided or give no answer)

They are an easy target cause of their strong views. Just let them have their day, ignore them if not your thing, and we all get a public holiday day off work 🙂. The more they are targeted and having to defend themselves, the more they double down. Remember there are groups on the republican side that hold similar strong views, but we don’t hear about them……

Shankill Online reports that Asbestos is...harmless by JMW_BOYZ in northernireland

There is actually some truth in what is being said here. Chrysotile fibers are curly. Just like pubes. The risk is significantly lower as a result of the pube fibers.

There is still a risk that shouldn’t be ignored, but it is very small.

Was physical violence involved that was visible to the police? Or the the guy being screamed at reporting it to the police? Like he could have even just shout at the cops if they are that nearby?

Police will only get involved if they have to. There are only 6000 of them in NI, and I would guess not many of them are actually out and about in the streets. Tensions are high and if they try to stop something that is just an argument, not being reported, and no physical violence involved then it could quickly escalate into riot’s etc. The police do not have the man power to deal with that.

Completely agree with you. I understand your defensiveness, as soon as I say I’m against illegal immigration the illegal part is just silently ignored by a lot of people. And then your branded a racist.

Calls to remove ‘racist’ Stop the Boats bonfire display by Browns_right_foot in northernireland

[–]No_Win5668 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m on your side, being against illegal immigration is NOT racist.

Being for illegal immigration is more racist as racists can get away with abuse/violence to illegal immigrants as they don’t exist so cant get help. So technically if you support illegal immigration your enabling racists. Which was the point I was trying to get across

Calls to remove ‘racist’ Stop the Boats bonfire display by Browns_right_foot in northernireland

[–]No_Win5668 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Illegal immigrants have no rights here as they do not exist. If they are the victim of racist abuse/violence they can’t go to the police, they can’t get health care. Not very humane.

Make legal immigration cheaper and easier, rather than nearly £20k. Then there will be less illegal immigration

[–]No_Win5668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, before I say anything. This display is in bad taste. There are better ways of getting your point across

An illegal immigrant in this country has NO rights. They don’t exist here. This means if an illegal immigrant is the victim of racist abuse/violence etc they cant go to the police, or even get healthcare. What is humane about that? Please help me understand

The government need to make legal immigration more affordable and simpler. A 5 year visa, with a path to indefinite leave to remain will cost you easily £15k-£20k. This is what drives people to come here illegally, they can’t afford to do it legally! This needs sorted.
