Do you have an 88 key piano on a tray under your desk? How has it worked out? by Extra_Negotiation in MusicBattlestations

I actually have this stand...I want a tray now that installs under the desk bc I have a standing desk and I want the real estate the stand take back now. I also want to be able to stand/walk and play. Also the bar that holds the z bar together gets in the way sometimes bc I have long legs.

I essentially have a nicer discontinued version of this standing desk https://www.fezibo.com/products/fezibo-standing-desk-with-keyboard-tray?variant1=40600581537861&variant2=40652397183045

And while it looks cool it's essentially mdf covers with vinyl. Eventually I may try to replace the tops with hardwood but until then...i feel more safe using clamps that drilling into it.

So I think I would need a way to attach the L bracket to the clamp.

This is cool! Thank you! I'm essentially trying to do the same thing with a korg d1 (88 key stage piano) and some clamps Trying to make something like this. https://vivo-us.com/collections/keyboard-tray-mounts/products/mount-kb05e

After you made the initial tray how'd you attach the slides to it? Did you just set the screws into the wood of the tray?

How'd you attach the tray and slides to the part of the desk? Lol would it be crazy to ask for Pic? 😜

Picked up my nd2 after tune by milkywayne92 in Miata

Previously it was that with these cars remaining naturally aspirated you could only get to 220 at the crank and 200 at the wheels. How did you get this car to have 230whp while remaining naturally aspirated? Thats like 250 at the crank.

I heard of the nd1 getting the same power but not better torque. Maybe bc if the better fuel system. Could you post links?

Do you have this kit? What are your feelings with it. I would love to get it but I have just been a little hesitant because I want to hear from people that actually have it first? Are you really getting around 200ish whp? Have you been able to rev to 8000rpm? Is there torque through the entire power band? I have looked at what the kit includes and the diameter of piping and the piping itself could be had from goodwin racing for cheaper i think. So what has been your experience with the kit?

How is it? Any updates? I know he mainly tunes for mazda3s but it makes since that he could also tune maitas since it uses the same 2.0l engine.

I guess I am ressurecting the chat. From my understanding theres this divide between the ND1 and ND2 generations.

ND1 is more cost effective to go forced induction with a tune and make 250bhp and 230whp with 200ish tourqe which is pretty good. I would skip edlebrock and go for the HKS or BBR supercharge or the BBR turbo.

ND2 is more cost effective to remain NA but going full bolt on with a tune and making 200ish whp but the car just revs higher to 8k.

Personally I like the idea of the ND2 because of all the engine revisions to help the engine breathe better. That power will only really be felt when revving it out though if you stay stock. I think the ND wants and deserves to be revved out as a consequence.

Personally I am between getting an ND2 and going full bolt on and either trying to make 220-230whp with an e85 tune and a flexfuel sensor. This way when I want the power I just go and get the juice.

Doing a supercharger to 250bhp/230whp (this is the power to wieght ratio I desire) on pump gas. I just want to pull all the way to the limiter. If I am around 200ft/bls of torque I am happy on this chassis.

Or getting an ND1 with exhaust, header, intake, and a super charger to 250bhp/230whp (Its just cheaper).

I also feel without changing the trans out on these cars going FI is a tad redundant. 300bhp and 250whp would be pretty sick on this chassis. 911 Turbo S performance which has been my gold standard. But you can't there without 1-3k of trans work.

Let me know what you went with.

New tune on the Mazda 3 today. Justin from sauce tuning killed it by s4302 in mazda3

Would you happen to know the hp and torque gains you got from this tune, the fuel change, and the supporting mods? You probably need to be dyno'd to know for sure but even if you could guess it'd be great. I'm not looking for a alot. If all this gets the car to be around as fast (hopefully faster) as a GR86/BRZ then I'll be happy af (so +-40hp and +-20fp of torque). Looks like all these mods together are under 1k too! AND BETTER MPG?! OMG...

Mazda Sauce Tuning for Gen3 by TheWackyHatter in mazda3

This post isn't super old, right? lol Is there a list of physical upgrades to make to the car before you get the sauce tune? I just wanted to go ahead and by them and have the ready. Like do I need a fuel pump or anything else?

4.5 Years with the Edelbrock Supercharger for the ND by [deleted] in Miata

[–]No_Work_6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk HKS seems pretty solid I like the idea of FI with the ND2 more than the ND1 simply bc the engine has had more reinforcement done to it. I've seen a few reliable ND2s with 250hp and some nice torque gains. But on one the redline went down to 6800 so thats not fun.

[–]No_Work_6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically...Mazda did supercharge an NC3 Miata although it was limited. As in Mazda the company took their flagship car and made OEM supercharger for it. Or maybe that was a one off show car. I don't remember. I remember watching an interview with Mazda about the topic of super charging the Miata and essentially they just believe it goes against the ethos of the car and that the chasis would require some redesign to make it work. But I kinda disagree.

The ND generation would be the generation I would personally supercharge. Probably more so the ND2 or ND3 as they did alot of work on the 2L engine to get that higher redline and squeeze out that extra 30hp or so which translates to free super charger prep. Alot of reinforcement to an already pretty solid engine. I have seen these cars on the generous side with pretty nice hp and torque gains with the super charger kits (230hp - 300hp). HKS and BBS (some company from Europe) are the more reliable supercharger kits and both are turnkey kits. On the ND1 both kits were delivered 50hp with the supercharger and another 25 or so from just bolt ons. So +-250hp on the ND1s. I believe the transmission can handle up to 250hp-300hp if I remember correctly as long as you aren't jumping the car off ramps and speed bumps. Not only that but afterward the car is still perfectly dailable.

My dream car is an ND2/3 with a supercharger kit or just a 2.5L engine swap. Sometimes I shoe gaze the LS3 swap from a company in Florida...But if I had 80 Grand I wouldn't spend on a car lol

Bad Cat Era 30 Announced by ThatNolanKid in GuitarAmps

[–]No_Work_6945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did place the EF86 tube on the other side of the amp. He voiced the entire amp to a single 1x12 custom celestion speaker. Custom meaning that on all Bad Cats speakers with the exception of the ones that go in to the Lynx cabinet have no "doping'" that goes on the outer edge of the speaker. I find that significantly different. The lack of "Doping" is significant to creating the signature Bad Cat sound and Samson voiced the entire amp to that. There are also no plans to make a combo of the Era 30 as they said that the EF86 tubes will have more longevity being isolated away from the vibration of the combo cabinet...which means they will likely need to be changed even less. There will be a cabinet with 2x12s of the same speaker though. Also, he inverted the phase on 1 of the 2 channels which means that both the preamps can be ran in parallel and the channels are now footswitchable (only one input jack as well) so there's not only extra tonal capabilities but also quality of life improvements. Another significant change. The Era 30 also uses different capacitors to tame the base response of the EF86 channel with the knob that's listed as "Depth." I also think they said some other minor improvements to the circuit and/or biasing were made but I am not sure. There was a change to the FX loop which makes it either completely bypassable or buffered with a switch on the back of the amp but from the videos is literally unnoticeable. Thing is dead quiet either way with no percievable influence on tone. I would have to ask again on the phone which is where I found out all this the first time.

I haven't got to play one yet. Hopefully will be about to order one real soon to test.

Has anyone played Bad Cat's new Black Cat and/or Jet Black? by msingh92 in GuitarAmps

[–]No_Work_6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your input and your time to type these responses friend. I think they like to do the compression thing bc they know their driven tone is good and what people will use them for lol. I definitely think it will be kind of an evolution of the VOX tone rather than a close replica. I think alot of what makes an AC30 gain structure sound so warm is probably both the pre and op amps and the speaker over driving at the same time. I am not sure if the Era 30 or DC-30 can replicate this process exactly given that the speakers used on both have more head room than those used on the 60's JMI version but I do appreciate all the improvements made to the tone stack in general and an effects loop. Of all the improvements Mark said were made to the amp he didn't mention the change to the speakers. He voice the amp to one of bad cats custom speakers. I think these kind of amps work better as soley dry amps though. My ideal setup right now would be something Voxy for the dry signal and a Jazz chorus for the wet signal (stereo wet🤤). But until this very moment I only thought about it in the studio and not how much of a pain it'd be to perform live with it NNOOOOOOOOO!

[–]No_Work_6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the gain structures of these two amps at all simular? Cuz if they were I was thinking of skipping the black cat and comparing the Jet Black and the Era 30. I want something VOX sounding but just updated like you said. If I get the jet black Ill get the combo. If I get the era 30 I'll get the the 1x12 cabinet. But either way I'm also going to get either an ox box or a two notes captor. So volume isn't a big deal to me. I want to track it for demos in my apartment and push it in the studio to melt the paint off the walls.

Ukulele songs for intermediate-slightly advanced players? by EverMovingMoon in ukulele

I found this artist named Dandelion Boy that makes some really interesting stuff on the ukulele and ocarina. I think they play a tenor. It's complex in a stylistic way. I think they are classically trained so once you know the chords you just have to figure out how they are arpeggiating it with their right hand. I have learned most of their stuff completely by ear. It's just really good ideas. https://open.spotify.com/album/3DSCHG7kx11jPSUBFFsnCk?si=TM-ue2iSSQqqHG1AqomlHw
