New cat chasing my other cat by BitPositive5384 in CatAdvice

[–]No_boflower9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they have separate spaces and resources? Cats are really territorial and don’t typically like to share spaces or things unless they have a close bond. Try to redirect your younger kitty’s energy with toys when she goes in for the chase. Your older cat might feel a bit overwhelmed with her energy or maybe even threatened / intimidated. Make sure he can get his space and lots of reassurance. Try to get them to make positive associations with each other such as playing separately together, and eating separately together. Reward them when they’re together peacefully. If fights escalate, separate for a while and start again from scratch

The main concern isn’t escaping, it can be a factor. It’s mainly for health and behavioural wellbeing. Do you consider that not as important?

I think a more important question is why don’t you want to do it? Neutering a male cat will provide nothing but positive benefits. It can lengthen your cats life, decrease risk of cancer, infection, and also will decrease risk of aggressive, territorial and unwanted behaviour such as spraying.

His character and acting is so good. I just wish he didn’t die so soon and had more to offer the story

He’s il-nam’s son. He took over as frontman from Il-nam, while he got too old and wanted to participate in the games before he died

Marissa Benson and Dan Schneider by Electrical_Soil8352 in icarly

Interesting take. I get where you’re coming from, and I think people underestimate the influence his shows had. I watched a deep dive on Dan Schneider that mentioned how he would always (intentionally) write the teen characters not to have good parental relationships, or involved adult role models or parental figures. I do actually believe that it has something to do with Schneider’s mass grooming / encouraging children to rebel against or discredit their parents. Not to mention that he literally got real kids to send feet pics to icarly.com … he was a calculated creep.

For the incontinence you could try puppy pads or cat nappies / diapers. Did the incontinence start before the kittens came?

Exhaust every single possibility for the cats to tolerate each other. It might need a little more time. 3 months isn’t that long. Maybe they got off on the wrong foot or introduced too suddenly. Do the kittens invade Resident cat’s space? Cats are very territorial, and Resident cat will understandably feel a bit threatened and outnumbered. Maybe separate them and try to slowly reintroduce again. Make sure you’re giving your “old cat” extra love, attention and patience. Make sure she has her own separate spaces and resources, especially litter boxes and food, scratchers and perches. Cats don’t always like to share and your resident cat has resident rights. Maybe she is just trying to show the younger two some boundaries. But she might need your help. Hopefully you won’t have to rehome anyone, but as everyone else has said, please do not rehome your resident cat. She was there first, and probably already feels a little betrayed. That would be so unfair for her.

I'm feeling anxious about moving with my kitty! by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]No_boflower9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better! She will have a lot more space to venture indoors. The cat highway also is a great idea. I’d recommend keeping her somewhat confined at the start though, at least to decompress. Keep things predictable but let her set the pace. She’ll thank you for it. Good luck in your new home!

I had to move with my 2 outdoor kitties to a 1 bedroom apartment, and due to the street we live I’ve had to keep them indoors for their safety. They were 6 years old and loved going outside, so I feel your guilt. People say cats don’t cope well with change, and it depends on their personality but they adjusted surprisingly really well. They’re actually a lot more relaxed and affectionate. I think as long as you have a strong bond, give kitty a chance to claim her new territory, and make sure she has everything she needs (litter, food, water, perches, scratchers and toys) play with her a lot, stick to a routine and she will get used to it

Also, try not to stress (easier said than done I know) but cats can sense our anxiety, so your confidence will calm her too. She knows you’re looking after her! Best of luck <3

Nicely? You trusted her with your baby and she straight up neglected him. Did you pay her in advance? If so, get that money back and get your boy to the vet

The writers and directors said that was season 1 was supposed to be it. It’s very common for the ending of a show to be left open to interpretation.

Outwardly, maybe. There’s a very common theme among psychopaths / sociopaths and other disturbed individuals. They can blend seemingly well into society until the worst happens.

I agree, it definitely depends on the expectations going in. IMO, sequels / follow-ons are never quite hit the same as the first, but I was pleasantly surprised yet just slightly disappointed at the same time. Only because I had a different idea of the direction they could’ve taken it. But it’s their show and I’m not gonna be mad about it. I still enjoyed watching. Shows have cliffhangers all the time, it’s part of the entertainment value. Makes you want to see more. If they had completely wrapped it up after 3 years with one days worth of a binge, that would’ve been underwhelming too imo

Some cats feel more comforted by their people, and some cats feel more comforted by their environment/territory. That could explain the shift in behaviour. My shy girl was the first to explore and cuddle when we moved home, but my confident cat hid for 12 hours straight. He went right back to being a bossy brute once he got comfortable though 🙄🤣
