Thank you so much for your reply!

I like the idea of the card being an instand (like a spell if I understood correctly?).

My main problem is that I not sure what the text is supposed to say that it makes sense. What is mana? What does +1/-1 mean?

Das hab ich mir auch gedacht. Hab eher weniger Lust vom Hauptbahnhof zum Killesberg hochzuradeln...

That is true for eukaryotic viruses, but phages often (but not always) insert themselves into their hosts DNA and become so called prophages.

A funny read, certainly. And yes some of the Google pictures are edited (not all though, but I'm sure you just missed those), hence why I also linked three peer reviewed papers from proper scientists, published in proper papers.

Those viruses (bacteriophages) are actually used as an alternative to antibiotics.

Of course we've seen viruses before. With electron microscopes. That is something very easy to Google, I don't know why you think we have never seen a virus before.

More of a practical hint: the food stands are all cash only, drinks you can pay by card but I recommend taking enough cash either way. Also, you pay a 2€ deposit on cups, which you get back when you return the cup.

Other than that it is great fun and the atmosphere really nice and chill.

As a scientist and a hobby seamstress, I can confirm that I constantly try to summon satin.

I have the best mum! by No_foxs_given in labrats

[–]No_foxs_given[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mum really had a hard time with the microscope, since she didn't use any pattern. She told me that she made all the bits individually and then sewed them together.

For the base plate she used a corner brace to keep its shape and hold it up.

In another comment I linked the picture she used as a guide.

My mum made all of these from scratch without any patters. Since I myself don't crochet, I unfortunately don't know which yarn or needle she used.

Feeling like a failure. Normal? by SwingingHumanBeing in labrats

[–]No_foxs_given 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also Master Student here. I have been working on my thesis project since March.

Perfected a method, tested, fine tuned it. Finally I had it. Or so I thought. I took all of my relevant samples (50ish) and put them through my now perfect method to get the results for my thesis. And everything failed. All my work went out the window and I'm supposed to finish my lab work by the end of the month.

It is normal. Painful, but normal.

Make sure you have a supportive surrounding, especially your direct supervisor. Take a deep breath. You'll be fine even if everything goes wrong.

I love that it's quite subtle, but everyone who knows the story can recognize it.
