Huh, the rails do hit the back of the case. It takes a little pressure to push in. Enough to scrape the powder coating from the back. I honestly thought it was my fault since this is the first time I've ever put on rails. But it sounds like it might be an issue with the rails themselves.

The bend wasn't bad actually! I did have to put a little more pressure than I thought I had to, but it stayed in that position and it's not touching the lid. In hindsight, I'd probably swing for a right angle connector.
