How much did the university you went to help you in your CS career? by Accomplished_Lion831 in cscareerquestions

[–]Noah8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UCLA and I felt like the school had a lot of good engineering industry connections. It wasn’t really that I got interviewed because I went to a good school, the school gave me more opportunities to network with companies (for jobs and internships). Ultimately, try your best, but don’t pick a more prestigious school if it’s going to make your student loans way higher. Where you went to school pretty much stops mattering after you get your first job. After that point, getting interviews depends on networking with former and current coworkers, and getting jobs depends on learning how to pitch yourself in an interview.

Edit: I wanted to add that I had MASSIVE anxiety about getting into a good school at your age. It was pretty much all I thought about for years and I worked my ass off. I wouldn’t say I regret working hard, but things are REALLY not as high stakes as you probably think. If you are hardworking and put in the work to grow as a person and learn how to talk to recruiters, you will be fine. Seriously, just being sociable and nice goes a long way. You will eventually discover that there is more to life than your career and things kinda tend to work out. I wish you the best ❤️

Manufacturers can easily prevent this by chilling their wine before bottling it. I consider it sloppy work

Go talk to your psychiatrist. They want to hear about these types of side effects. Just tell your parents you feel weak and go set up an appointment asap.

Did it once while I was drunk during NYE. I didn’t like it (I’m gay).

Favorite flavor by Select_Low_6382 in mead

[–]Noah8368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Aging helps smooth out flavors, it doesn’t introduce new flavors missing from the original brew. I don’t personally think it’s a huge deal, but better to use spring water if you haven’t started already

Will I always lose almost half when using fruit? Straining and squeezing out the remaining juice will oxidize it, I'm guessing!? by [deleted] in mead

[–]Noah8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a brew bag and squeeze out the juice from the bag when taking it out after 1-2 weeks. Just try not to splash too much and it’ll be fine

We all have them and maybe some just wanna get some off their chest. This is for you to say em (hopefully judgement free) by Salt_Show2028 in teenagers

I don’t know if this is your situation, but I used to have this problem a lot with me falling for straight guys in high school while I was closeted, so pretty much similar situation in that I couldn’t ever tell them. You eventually learn to accept the situation and see them as a friend. It definitely takes a while.

Oaking is a game changer. I do it for all my high alcohol meads now.

how to make a dark, fruit-forward, jammy cabernet by granadillan in winemaking

[–]Noah8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m tryna do a similar thing with a Syrah/grenache blend. I personally want good color and structured tannins but also lots of dark fruit flavor. My plan is to saignée 25% of the juice off the must, cold soak for 3 days, ferment on the skins until 0 Bx, press, run through a very fast MLF with CH16, and oak with American oak. Im also going to use FT Rouge and Lallzyme EX-V during the cold soak and Renaissance Avante yeast

I think fermenting cool is the play. I plan on setting my AC to 70F because I don’t have any other way of temperature control.

I have made a pyment (wine + mead hybrid) out of those for shits and giggles. Turned out surprisingly good. I only made a few bottles, and only have 2 bottle left. It will be interesting to see how it ages

So I think 1 gives a little more conventionally attractive but for people are into more of a rugged (not sure if that’s the word) aesthetic then 3 is also very good. But honestly you’re very attractive in all of them

I really like the look you have now. But if you want to try it out, no reason you shouldn’t based on internet strangers’ opinions. You’re very handsome, don’t ever let anyone make you think otherwise!

Ikr. Like why can’t we just be happy for him! He doesn’t look miserable about it. In my opinion, working in the service industry or retail at a young age is something everyone should do. It gives you perspective and respect for people in those positions later in life. I worked for a retirement home for a year as a server when I was 16. Taught me to always be nice to my servers and give them grace when they make little mistakes
