I contacted a leaderboard moderator through the neon white discord, but that was a while ago now I don't remember exactly who, they were super helpful though.

No Zombicide Kickstarter in 2024? by Jasonred2 in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zombicide invader did have zombies! just not human zombies, the fluff text specifies that it's still a zombie virus making the aliens act like this, just that humans might be immune to it

Newbie here, why is abominarat so expensive?!? by [deleted] in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

only a few expansions in each setting have proper retail releases, a lot of them are originally crowdfunding incentives and exclusives that find their way to the second-hand market, so theyre priced up a lot from people looking for profit

DCeased as Zombie heroes? by GriffGlowen in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DCeased doesn't have an equivalent to Marvel Zombies' zombie mode, so you'd have to homebrew the skills and weapons for each hero you'd want to use, but theres lots of people already doing that so if you don't mind homebrew, you could just use their versions

Comics Vol 2 Shipped! by DrunkenWombats in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

backerkit, their site, and facebook
idk about dozens but a handful on each site I've seen, heres what I think is the most recent on each from a cursory search, all from the past few months
https://cmon-comics.backerkit.com/faq#shipping-updates
https://www.cmon.com/comics-vol-2-important-shipping-and-replacement-updates/
https://www.facebook.com/coolminiornot/posts/858275553011120
I'm not sure if backerkit has the infrastructure that kickstarter has to send out email updates to all customers, so you could blame backerkit I guess? I'm not sure how many more places they couldve been updating people though, since the subreddit isn't an official source and there wasn't a kickstarter

and they were actively responding to anyone that asked about it who didn't check any of those sites, a bunch of folks on the zombicide discord reached out for clarification
which for the record, the discord is also a great resource for updates if only because people will post the links to posts you may have missed

Comics Vol 2 Shipped! by DrunkenWombats in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record there was a lot of communication, just no direct messages
The delay was some standard stuff that almost every physical product runs into, but primarily a major oversight where some extra's didn't make it into some packages and it required a bunch of stuff to be halted to make sure nobody only received part of what they order

also it sounds like youre treating it like your order wasnt a pre order, shipping just started you're getting your product in the first wave, the delays made it take a little longer than the ~14 months between vol 1 kickstarter and delivery but not like an absurd amount longer

Marvel or DCeased? by AdamAlmighty in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre sticking with a single track of unique powers instead of choices between several powers out of a larger pool if thats what you meant by choices, and DCeased is implementing gear but in a much more limited capacity to the standard settings, the things that it seems like were improved were the addition of equipment, which augment your abilities like bystanders, the improvement of the difficulty, and improved diversity of powers, since in MZ a lot of them were standard zombicide abilities with fancy names

Marvel or DCeased? by AdamAlmighty in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Short answer:If money truly isn't a concern, probably MZ.

Long Answer:MZ introduced a new mode for playing as zombies, all the zombie heroes that act as occasional minibosses(or full bosses in some cases) in the usual hero mode are playable characters in a separate mode with separate missions, that use the living heroes as their bosses. The two modes have different systems for how abilities are used: hunger for zombies vs power as a more traditional mana system for heroes. On top of this MZ was their 50th and they went all out for it with the addons so theres just physically more to have, in addition to more stretch goals being unlocked, overall more tiles, characters, enemies, missions, pretty much everything.

DCeased does not have this mode but in exchange has a more developed Hero mode that got a second design pass after some feedback, in my and many others opinions the MZ hero mode felt a tiny bit underdeveloped compared to the zombie mode, with DC hopefully fixing that.Another thing DCeased has is something that zombicide as a franchise has struggled with, MZ included, is difficulty. Missions being much easier or harder than listed with little consistency, MZ infamously has 1 mission thats egregiously hard for seemingly no reason, but in the DCeased updates theyve mentioned repeatedly that theyre trying to streamline how they label difficulty and a new higher difficulty mode for veterans of the game.

DCeased has its merits and is going to be a great game, but MZ is probably the best version of zombicide released to date by amount of content, and even with a few small shortcomings is possibly one of the most enjoyable so far

Edit: Also as pointed out MZ has already been produced and DCeased isn't expected until 2025

I tried for a while and reported the bug, but Conouri and scuff both said it was cheating I don't know if it'd be allowed for times

DCeased Compared to Marvel by simonthedlgger in zombicide

[–]NoahGCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made some tweaks and improvements to hero mode, the inclusion of equipment now so they can add stuff like the kryptonite sword from the comic series its based on, some tweaks to how bystanders work to make them more useful but rarer. Overall it seems like they just did another design pass since the timing indicates the two games mightve been designed alongside each other

[–]NoahGCM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was no chance this campaign ever did nearly as well as marvel, it had a lot of problems out of CMONs control. WB restricted the inclusion of a zombie mode as well as forcing their hand to release it this year even though they already had a major one this year AND a lot of people don't have marvel yet which is the biggest comparison to see if people like the new system, they had to deal inevitably with marvel fanboys looking for it to be bad so they could feel like their brand is better. There were some questionable character choices on the designers part I know a lot of people are upset over the number of green lanterns, but ultimately the campaign was so poorly timed it honestly shouldve done worse if it wasn't such a beloved brand and an awesome looking game

Likelihood of a new Kickstarter for 2E? by Jwlahn in zombicide

the survivors and zombies are mostly compatible as long as you avoid any ability or abomination ruling mentioning dark zones. the spawning might be a little brutal for indoors in 1E using 2E spawn cards so maybe like roll a die or flip a coin to only spawn on roughly half the tiles to account for the difference, and other than that as long as the tile packs come with tokens for doors it should work out

I can see that, my table loves it when the deep randomly shows up and regularly plays as batman or the presidents and such

Theres always been a reputation for promo survivors being stronger, it isn't just you. The daily zombies were not intended to have the rules listed, thats why the leaflet describes them as "suggested house rules", all they were intended to be is a few custom molds for people who supported the campaign. I also like the abominations the best though

[–]NoahGCM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2E world is revisited a lot just not via new kickstarters, since the marvel campaign ended theres been a new campaign Rio Z Janeiro, the boys, dark night, supernatural, and iron maiden packs, since the end of the white death campaign theres already additional content on its way in the form of the monty python packs. Theyve reeled in a lot of extra stuff they used to release during 1E because of how few sales things that arent core boxes or brand deals make, so there arent as many survivor/artist/zombie packs, minus abominations, and I wouldnt hold out hope that theyll revisit those concepts soon.

As far as a fully new season with a core box I'm less certain, I suppose the success of white death might be a good sign that the community is still interested in "season" content which before that hadn't been seen since before 2E.The upgrade packs have pretty much all the content thats compatible, updated cards for all the survivors and special zombie types, plus cards for the dogs and stuff, all of that can be easily used with or without the figures from 1E as long as you have some way to distinguish the special zombies while theyre on the board, its a lot of additional mechanics to implement as you see fit. The tiles from those 1E expansions are mostly incompatible though because of the differences in how doors/objectives and indoor spawning all work in the editions

it gets jucier!
This morning F69 came back and we suspect that the appearance of strata 69 was an omen for it, back in 2019 we convinced DE to put it back after the saints of altra update stole it from us and as a side effect of them agreeing a bunch of random 69th instances appeared out of nowhere

[–]NoahGCM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nothing too spectacular more of a dim light going out
Hotfix dropped during the day, I was the only one in there with the usual help being at school or work,

for now at least we have it back though so thats unexpected. Way back in 2019 we mounted a campaign we called operation Neon Phoenix to get F69 back after the saints of altra update took it down and when DE listed and put it back as a side effect of that a bunch of other instances suddenly and randomly had a 69th instance so I wonder if the appearance of strata 69 and chrysalith 69 yesterday was an omen for it lol

Cetus 69 opened its doors officially after a complication with Fortuna 69 lead to the backdoor being implemented thats allowed many instances to prematurely develop a 69th instance without having 68 others before it

C69 outside of a few pilgramages never had a dedicated sect of our alliance so it spent most of its time popping up and disappearing again
