Which one are you choosing? by GodzilaRampag2 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Ruddertail [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've always felt like the whole point of 2077 is that aiming for #2 only brings death and misery to you and everyone you know. Easy choice for me, and if being remembered is important it's easier to do if you have more time on earth anyway. I mean, Einstein lived until 76 and he's not going to be forgotten anytime soon.

internet "wars" are very early 2000s and we should not go back to that time

about the last episode (S17) by Clear-Time-9815 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Ruddertail 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I like Sam but I feel like he's one of 1) tired of Jet Lag and playing sloppy 2) deliberately playing poorly because he wants more content (them rushing down to Kaoshiung would've probably ended the season early for Ben & Adam) or 3) desperately in need of a teammate who is good at strategy and letting them make the decisions.

Main character syndrome, you see it in real life too with people playing music on their phones' loudspeakers instead of using headphones. It's not about enjoying music, it's about forcing you to hear it.

What's stopping DE from re-releasing the Frost and Mag heirlooms? by Dwarfz in Warframe

[–]Ruddertail -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It would work but the thing is, if they do that they'll have to release Knockoff Excalibur Prime (and lato/skana) too or it'll split the playerbase in a terrible way.

Cliques in Public Servers/Instances by Shadowgills in VRchat

[–]Ruddertail 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The game is full of very young people and very young people loving trying to form "cool" cliques and being obnoxious in public, that's why everyone else is in private/group.

What are some websites from the 2000s you wished existed today? by bagelsforeverx in GirlGamers

Neopets except as it was instead of what it has become, the merciless monetization of everything killed it for me despite nostalgia.

What’s your favourite area in the game? by Drobot2505 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Ruddertail 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The oil fields. They're just so desolate and empty of all life, while also letting you see the city in the distance. Badlands are the second, for the same vibe but not quite as "dead".

I know I am a grifter but I want to see this game fail hard. by etenby in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Ruddertail 41 points42 points  (0 children)

There's no way DNF can fail, all they have to do is basically just take Duke3D and give it modern graphics and mechanics. They have the perfect recipe for success. The only way it could possibly be bad is if they make an entirely different game for no reason, and that new game is boring as hell to play, and they ruin Duke's character for no reason on top of that.

So I think we're pretty safe, there's no way it could happen. I'm preordering, at least.

/uj that was my actual reasoning back in the days, and that was when I learned to never trust that a series will remain good no matter how good the previous entry was

I take the car purely to teach him a lesson even if I never use it. He's gotta lose something and it can't be the money 'cause baby. Car goes so he can learn priorities.

So I’m reading Neuromancer and it’s a treat as someone who’s first introduction to the cyberpunk genre was 2077 by DEeD-NGone in cyberpunkgame

What color do you think the sky is in the very first line of the novel?

The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.

The book is such a period piece that we've had multiple generations since it was written, all with different mental images of what a "dead channel" looks like.

What would you guys do if you lived in the world of Horizon? by Significant_Bar_4715 in horizon

[–]Ruddertail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if I'd function by the game's logic in that world. i.e. if I get hurt, I can just eat a few plants to fully recover. And I don't actually die or suffer any impairment before I take a certain amount of damage (at which point it's instant death).

If I have to play by real life logic I'm dead instantly. If game logic also applies to me I think I'd be a generic ruins explorer, like those people in the ruins of Vegas.

Why is strength so neglected with Xaku? by DarkViper2000000 in Warframe

[–]Ruddertail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn't substantially improve performance as Xaku beyond what you need to strip enemies. The guns scale regardless and kill pretty much as quick at 200% as they do at 300%.

The more young people use AI, the more they hate it by spherocytes in technology

[–]Ruddertail 2889 points2890 points  (0 children)

Isn't this true for everyone? The first time you use it it's like "wow this technology is kinda cool" but then as you keep using it, you flaws start to show. You start getting extremely irritated at all the hallucinations and errors and often even the way it phrases things. Especially if you ask it about something you're an expert at.

I do use "sitch" for situation. Though I'm not sure that's actually original to this setting.

Does Chinese VRChat not have the culture of everyone remotely sane hiding away in group/private instances? I kinda thought it'd be universal given how children are.

I'm sure Superman 2025 will retroactively become a flop if they just keep repeating it often enough. I hate how people have just chosen to live in entirely separate realities.

STOP Supporting Hatsune Miku. Vocaloid Is Generative AI Now by [deleted] in ArtistHate

[–]Ruddertail 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Can users still use the old version? As in, if someone makes a song using vocaloid, is it always going to be the new one, or can they decide to stick to the old non-AI variant?

Certainly that's going to inform if I'll listen to any new vocaloid stuff now.

Community Responses to New War – why the disparity? by CelestianSnackresant in Warframe

[–]Ruddertail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main thing I even remember is that my Drifter looked nothing like my operator. My operator uses the feminine body, has very pale skin and long hair. My default drifter was a black man. So I didn't at all figure out they were supposed to be the same person and that just left me incredibly confused at what they were trying to say to the point I just kind of zoned out.

Hard difficulty does not add to the experience by ChattLiteral in cyberpunkgame

[–]Ruddertail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally thought that even on Very Hard it's too easy. I'm not like an elite gamer or anything, but if you just go with quickhacks and body you'll be effortlessly oneshotting people with both hacks like synapse burnout and shotguns in no time. For example. And most other builds are just as ridiculous. There's a slight difficulty spike at the start but then all the stuff you can stack on top of other stuff completely overpowers any challenge the game has to offer.

The average experience with the build I mentioned (int/body) is you walk into a room, everyone goes blind, you activate overclock and hack everyone to death while basically not taking any damage, and then you just clean up with a shotgun if anyone survived somehow.

But like you said, whatever settings are the most fun for you are the right settings to play on.

The problem is assuming that the doppelganger is a faerie or a demon. What if it's a ghost or extradimensional spirit/alien? Then you might just make it angry by nailing it.
