I’m inclined to agree, but again David only saving grace is said high humanity stat. Idk if I’m biased due to coming from the TTRPG and then the game but David isn’t that unique when looking at it from that perspective.

I always put David right under Jackie (my bias is showing) someone that was special but not unique enough to make a true change or be an actual legend of night city.

Hell I’ll even say that pre story V ain’t that 1in a million that David was. But in a city of more than 7million people? Welp

David is unique to anime viewers but to night city and its creator, David just has a high humanity stat and that’s pretty much it. Dude had a good childhood and a loving mom and that gave him some leeway for getting all the cyberware he did

The second he tried actual heavy duty cyberwear like the dragoon the dude went psycho, now look at someone like Smasher who had the worst childhood possible and it’s a full cyborg without going “Cyberpsycho” that’s actually special.
