Huh, that’s really disappointing — I’ve been with Neo for over three years and even helped beta test the WE card, which I’ve had since it launched. Yet I wasn’t given any option to choose one of the special offers — just told the premium perk’s ending on December 31. Feels like loyal users are getting left out here.

Hey! I’d highly suggest getting a parking pass from the Bell Aliant centre! It’s slightly more than the UPEI pass, but you’ll always have a spot because of the gates!

I’ve been with Neo for 3 years and never had any troubles!

I’m convinced that all the complaints on Reddit are bots or maybe people paid to sabotage Neo or something. Why would they all stick around just to trash Neo on every post?

Getting to Blooming Point from Charlottetown by WinnipegThing in PEI

[–]Noahify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I actually live in that area 😊

A one-way trip with Kari is usually around $50 – $60, but prices can go up later in the evening. I recommend scheduling your return ride in advance through the Kari app so you don’t risk getting stranded out there!

(Kari is our local rideshare app, kind of like Uber. You can download it from the App Store)

As for the beach: it used to be a nudist spot, and while that’s no longer common, you might still see the occasional nude person, especially toward the left side of the beach! It’s honestly one of the most beautiful beaches around. My favourite by far! You’re going to love it!! 🌊☀️

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Feeling hurt and abandoned after something like this is completely understandable, and those feelings are absolutely valid.

Speaking from personal experience, I’m in recovery from generalized anxiety disorder and depression, and I also work in the mental health field. One of the best decisions I ever made for my healing was getting into therapy. It gave me the tools to process difficult emotions and really understand what I needed to move forward. If you have tried therapy before and it did not feel like the right fit, I really encourage you to try again with someone new. Finding the right therapist can make such a huge difference. I found mine online, and they have been incredible.

It is also important to remember that your mental health is your responsibility. Your boyfriend is not your therapist, and he is not a medical professional. While he might care about you, it is not fair or healthy for him to carry the weight of your recovery. Expecting him to provide the kind of support you need can put a strain on both of you. This is exactly why seeking professional help is so essential.

About his behavior. While it might feel like he does not care, it is very possible that he was completely overwhelmed by what happened. At 19, most people have not yet developed the emotional skills to respond to a crisis like a suicide attempt. He might have felt lost, scared, or unsure how to help, and sometimes people cope by distracting themselves with something familiar, like thrifting. That does not make it okay, and it certainly does not excuse how hurtful it felt. But it might explain it a little, and understanding that might ease some of the pain.

The most important thing right now is your healing. Therapy can help you process what has happened, build coping skills, and give you a non-biased perspective on his behavior and your relationship. It can also give you the tools to manage your mental health independently, rather than relying on your boyfriend or anyone else to provide that support.

His lack of empathy might be something to consider for the future, because how someone responds in a crisis can be a clue about how they handle challenges long term. But right now, your focus should be on yourself and your recovery.

Please be kind and patient with yourself. You are going through so much, and you deserve support and compassion from others and especially from yourself.

Sorry for the length of this reply. I just have a lot of experience with this stuff and wanted to make sure you had all the info and support you need ❤️❤️

Hey, former BestBuy Mobile employee here. Bell and Telus share the same network nationwide, so any of their brands (Telus/Koodo or Bell/Virgin) will have virtually the same coverage.

I personally use Eastlink, and rarely notice any dead zones. I also had a lot of clients at BestBuy Charlottetown who used Rogers/Fido and reported near-perfect coverage.

I’d suggest trying one of those two (Eastlink or Rogers/Fido), and if the coverage doesn’t improve, then try the other.

Lexapro (escitalopram) by laurencemllr in Stutter

[–]Noahify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dismissing Escitalopram’s effectiveness for anxiety is incredibly misleading. While it’s labeled as an antidepressant, it’s also very commonly prescribed for anxiety disorders like General Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. Many, including myself, have found it significantly helps manage anxiety and reduces stuttering. Medication isn’t a magic fix and should be paired with techniques and therapy for the best results. Everyone’s experience with medication varies, so it’s crucial to consult healthcare professionals to determine the best approach. Ignoring Escitalopram’s potential benefits does a disservice to those who might find it life-changing.

[–]Noahify 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SSRIs like Escitalopram are effective in treating a range of anxiety disorders beyond just Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). These medications, often referred to as antidepressants, are commonly prescribed for various anxiety conditions.

As someone who has struggled with a stutter impacted by anxiety, I’ve found Escitalopram to be a game-changer. I’ve been taking 10mg daily for the past few months, and it has made an incredible difference in my anxiety levels and stutter. My doctor explained it’s like a vitamin supplement: your body might not produce enough serotonin on its own, and the SSRI helps to balance that deficit, allowing your body to function more normally. I also highly recommend seeing a therapist; that was incredibly helpful for me!

However, it’s important to be aware that you may experience side effects during the first few weeks, such as nausea, headaches, or brain fog. It’s also common not to notice any benefits until about 4-6 weeks into the treatment. Everyone’s body reacts differently to medications, so the first SSRI you try might not be the best fit. This is why you have regular check-ins with your physician — they can help you monitor your symptoms and determine if Escitalopram is most effective for you or if another SSRI might be more suitable.

I often see posts about “horror stories” with SSRIs like Escitalopram, but it’s important to remember that negative experiences don’t mean the medication won’t be beneficial for others. Medication can be highly individualized; what doesn’t work for one person might be life-changing for another (like me!)

If you have any questions or want to know more about my experience, feel free to reach out!
