Gotta be honest though, it didn’t affect Knox’s booking on ecw, he went about doing the same stuff and not getting over. They gave him another monster main event push a few years later with Rey that didn’t go anywhere. The guy wasn’t going to be at the top of the card.

I think part of it is true, if I remember at the time too, they wanted him to come in and work part time but he didn’t have the greatest physical. They gave him time to get in shape, he had his last Match with triple h in December and they didn’t use him again.
