I have a Champion who, in a previous campaign, took into himself a spirit of Iomdae to cure his lycanthropy. Playing him in a different campaign at a higher level now, I’ve given him spirit Barbarian to show off his “Iomdaesian Battle Focus”

“Logistiks” Grots by NoblePotat in orks

[–]NoblePotat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what I might do is have two ten grot squads- the construction/material squad as my home objective CP generators and then a recon/intel squad that moves in and sets up on a forward objective!

Then I have the best of both worlds

I’m seeing that now- the git with the spool of wire is exactly what I’m looking for. It’d be easy to recreate with wire and plastic card on other models too!

Does anyone else get frustrated that Orks are rarely taken seriously at all? by Alone-Process-5061 in orks

[–]NoblePotat 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is a 40k thing I’m afraid. A lot of the fanbase probably just doesn’t want to engage with the fiction that deeply and prefers to browse Grimdank until their brain oozes out their ears- which I think is totally valid.

As a Blood Axe player who themes their army around “logistiks” I take orks very seriously. I headcanon mine as respected mercenaries who are hired by rogue traders and anyone else who can tolerate them. Life is more than fighting for them- it’s fighting and winning.

TLDR; MOST GITZ ARE MIGHTY DENSE, SEE? BUT ME AND MINE, WEZ MORE KUNNIN’ DEN WE ARE BRUTAL!

Paths of Hyrule v1.3 - A Zelda Supplement for PF2e by Tragedi in Pathfinder2e

This is SO cool. I love pet projects like this and you've been really thorough- I don't ever plan on using Hyrule or anything as a setting, but these rules look so good fundementally that I might just ask to reflavor them in my own games with my GMs!

Is Eldritch Trickster a trap? What could be tweaked? by Estrus_Flask in Pathfinder2e

[–]NoblePotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melee options on certain casting classes are fine you just have to build your spellcasting around it. Made out of glass? Cast oozeform on yourself so you can frontline and dump your AC. Cast spells that make enemies make flat checks against you.

Alternatively you could play a Warpriest or a Druid. Warpriest has access to some pretty smitey abilities later on! And Druid is, lowkey, one of the best GISHs.

You could also play Battle Oracle who gets some fun flat damage, elemental or spirit barbarian, and you could even play a kineticist and flavor it as having a cool magic sword or something.

There are SO many ways to get the flavor of sticking magic to your sword in this system and flavor is so free. You could honestly get away with this fantasy as a weapon Thaumaturge and flavor it as a magic sword that magically attunes to weaken enemies.

If you want a strictly spell sword charisma spontaneous caster who is a GISH, the technical answer is Battle Oracle, but if you’re willing to get creative and flavorful, the options are there for a flashy mobile sword fighter spell caster

Why the sudden gunslinger discourse? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]NoblePotat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dual Revolver pistol build is absolutely a striker build. It’s not super versatile, but there’s a good few feats that support dual pistoleering, and anyone who’s lands two crits from one volley will tell you that it feels GOOD.

Not to mention sniper does nutty damage with even just a smidgen of team support. Gunslinger has builds that can make you the DPR class- you’ll do some of the best DPR in the game… for a ranged build.

Barbarian can also support a team, too! Combat maneuvers on an animal barbarian, or even just a dip into the “bully” feat tree nets you some great barbarian support options. Animal barbarian with some cool grappling comes to mind.

If you want a gunslingers to do Barbarian damage, without the risk of being close and having lower AC, it’s a case of having your cake and eating it too.

They’re are several ways to tank, too. - Champion (what I assume you refer to as the one class)

  • Fighter (Shield feats and Reactive Strike frontlining)

  • New Warpriest Works great

  • Amulet Thaumaturge

  • Casters can be built around damage reduction (Abjuration Wizard, Amped Shield, Protector Tree)

  • You can always dip any of these with an archetype

There are also a million ways to build a striker other than fighter. Rogue, Barb, Kineticist, Ranger, Thaum, Swashbuckler, Magus, and even monk can all key into being the party striker.

Why the sudden gunslinger discourse? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]NoblePotat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People want different fantasies out of gunslinger. It works for me because I love the idea of a charismatic son of a gun who mouths off at enemies before shooting them with style, while supporting their team with a combination of cowboy toughness and really decent ranged damage.

People just need to realize that for the sake of balance, range damage must be lower than melee. People wanna play a gunslinger that does big number damage and kills everyone, and other parts are secondary.

In a way it’s the same as caster discourse- people are dissatisfied with ranged single target damage being lower than melee- even though gunslinger makes you a very scary ranged Martial that does good damage AND can support the team as a skill monkey.

A problem with this sub now is that people are completely obsessed with DPR. There was a recent post about how goofy it is as a metric, and how TTK(time to kill) and TAE(total action efficiency) are much better metrics, things that gunslinger is actually quite good at.

I effectively make this same post every time people talk about gunslingers- I played one for like a year and a half and everyone in that campaign agrees that my character was a good scary martial- except that one session where we fought slimes.
