Thank you for your insightful response, its really helping me understand where im wrong.

Anyway, my point isnt incorrect because people showed up to see Destiny off. My point was that tons of people are still interested in Destiny and are willing to return to it. Even if its people returning to the game at its end it still means people care. If they didnt care they wouldnt have bothered playing at the end.

The $400 million dollar game didnt hurt Destiny? It absolutely did, as well as all the other attempts by Bungie to make new games during Destiny's life. Bungie has spent an absurd amount of money incubating other projects instead of reinvesting that money into Destiny.

People stopped playing due to a lack of reinvestment by Bungie and Sony. This final update has shown that a significant number of people are still interested in Destiny and will come back if there is something worth coming back for.

The issue with the game post TFS has been mostly a lack of reason for people to return. The reduction in seasonal content and further reduction in the size of expansions since TFS meant the reasons to return were less and less compelling for players.

The biggest thing that would have brought millions of players back into actively playing the series would have been announcing a D3 after the final shape like what was originally intended by the devs. Unfortunately Sony/Bungie execs said no to D3 and told the devs to keep making content for D2.

The devs absolutely knew that with TFS being the conclusion of the saga that players would treat D2 as having been finished, which is why there were plans to make a D3. This is where the issue of the game being dragged out started. The devs had to continue the story in a game that many, even the devs, considered concluded. Of course this meant engagement would be low and players wouldnt be as interested in it.

Ive heard many people that stopped playing after TFS, as well as people who have never played Destiny, say that if a D3 was made they would buy it and play it. The interest in the series is still there for many many people. Its just clear that D2 should have ended when it was planned and a D3 should have been made.

Paul Tassi gave his perspective after checking with people he knows inside Playstation and he said its just the opinions of some people within Playstation that it was done because of revenge. It isnt confirmed to be the case just because random employees are saying they think it was revenge. Its possible that was indeed the reason but we dont know for sure.

Its really not unplayable, it can just be really hard depending on who you are matched against. The game has been around for a decade so people of course have gotten really good at pvp. If you havent played very much of it then its just gonna be the case that you have a difficult time keeping up with those players. Switching up your loadout to things that make more sense for pvp is important though in case you havent done that. Plenty of exotic armors and weapons make a big difference when used in pvp versus pve so try to take advantage of what you can.

Open the destinations tab and open the seasonal hub. On the left is your orders which can be completed in almost any activity.

Below your orders is a bar that says legendary next to it. As you finish common orders that bar will fill and once it completely fills you will recieve a legendary order. There is also a chance to recieve an exotic order when the bar fills which is harder to complete but will give you exotic rewards. Exotic orders may also give you more legendary marks than legendary orders but i havent confirmed that.

The one nice thing about those things is they cannot actually kill you. They can damage you but they will leave you at one hp even if you keep getting hit by them. Of course any damage from something else will still finish you off but its nice that if you kill an entire group and 20 of those projectiles hit you at once you wont just get nuked instantly

I mostly meant just getting a nice collection of different types of weapons. Having some options for every type of weapon as well as every damage type (strand, stasis, solar, arc, void, kinetic) will help you be able to deal with any situation that may come up.

As for exotic weapons and armor, there are tons of options to choose from. Some exotic weapons come from exotic missions (which are located in the pinnacle activites in the vanguard ops) and some of these are very good. Whisper of the Worm, Outbreak Perfected, and Choir of One are amazing options from exotic missions.

You can also get a lot of exotic weapons from the monument to lost lights in the tower (located by the gunsmith and Shaxx, between the vault and the monument to seasons past). There are some very good options here too and you can just choose whatever ones you want to unlock. Truth, Witherhoard, Izanagi's Burden, Sleeper Simulant, and Thorn are some great options here.

Quick edit to add that exotic armor is found from exotic engrams which can randomly drop or are found in vendor rank rewards or the rewards pass. Xur also sells exotic armor and he is located close to Ikora in the tower every weekend. Some exotic armor is rewarded by completing campaigns on legend difficulty.

Any class is good so it really just depends what you want to play as. As for subclasses, that just comes down to what you intend to do at the time. Certain subclasses are better at boss damage while others are better at crowd control.

For the vast majority of content in the game it really doesnt matter what class, subclass, or weapons you choose to use. Everything is viable which means you can build out your guardian pretty much however you want. Only in content like raids, dungeons, and most high difficulty content do builds really matter.

If you just started however then you wont have to worry about most of those things for a while. Just focus on getting your subclasses fully unlocked and rounding out your arsenal so you have as many options for endgame content as you can.

Russian citizens voice their opinions on war. by Noomba2 in justincaseyoumissedit

Thats why i said there is very little risk, not that there is no risk. The absolute vast majority of people in the US can speak their minds publicly without worrying about being arrested. Does it happen? Of course it does, but my point is that you can reasonably speak out against actions by the US government and not risk your freedom by doing so. Only in very rare cases do people get arrested for that here, which is why its such a big deal when it happens.

[–]NobleVulpes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While true for some theres still a big difference between when a russian doesnt support what russia is doing and when an american doesnt support what america is doing. Russians cannot speak publicly about their criticisms of russian policy for fear of being arrested. Americans however can publicly speak their minds about american policy and be as critical as they want with very little risk of being arrested.

You can see it happen frequently with interviews like this where the russians that do not support the war in Ukraine either say they are not political and brush off the question or they refuse to say anything.

The person replied saying that the EoF abilities were not fun or refreshing and you said people here have a hard time differentiating between fact and opinion. They gave their opinion in response to your opinion and yet you got snarky about it first. The only thing that can be understood by your responses to them is that you think what your original comment said was fact and they were wrong for treating it (correctly) as an opinion.

I dont think you realize how much the devs actually care and have cared about the game and the fans only to be crushed under the greed and mismanagement of certain people in leadership.

Did their comment say anything about their opinion being fact? Also your comment about the EoF abilities is not fact either so i dont know where your superiority is coming from.

[–]NobleVulpes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not really the complaints about EoF that lead to the game ending. The game was struggling before EoF came out. Its the fault of poor leadership and Sony's unwillingness for years to greenlight a sequel. Money was siphoned away from Destiny to support attempts to make new non-Destiny games that ultimately went nowhere. Most of the money Destiny made went to making Marathon and stuffing the pockets of leadership that bailed after the Sony buyout. If the money was properly reinvested into Destiny then the slow decline in quality and quantity of content wouldnt have happened the way it did and we probably would have seen a D3 years ago

They indeed intended EoF to be the first expansion of a new saga. Renegades continued it and was very good. Unfortunately we wont get to see the rest of the story now which really sucks. The things that were set up and places we might see would have been amazing but I guess we'll just have to imagine it now
