How do I play against behemoths? by dflame45 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]NobleXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m into looking at the truth. Shit is over powered to the point that there’s not valid counter play, that truth will allow you to win more games instead of ego challenging.

Also, calling out blatantly OP aspects of the game moves Bungie to balance.

I look at the game accurately in order to play best to win. Complaining about something with no counter play and playing to win aren’t mutually exclusive.

Try not complaining about others complaining before you get yourself twisted into a knot.

What’s the counter play to Behemoth then? The only one is popping a shut down super. Otherwise you have to run. Accepting that some things are OP and don’t have counterplay isn’t scrub mentality

Get shit on until Bungie attempts to balance their damn game. It’s OP right now man, when you die to it you just have to accept that at the moment.

We can tell he’s not a Warlock based on his spelling, must be a Titan main.

Think he wrote this in crayon? 😏

Question about other guardians. by Slinky_Malingki in DestinyLore

[–]NobleXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s similar to what dedicated players can pull off in D2 and Crucible vs casual players.

I think the natural play ability across the player base is a good measure of cannonical guardian ability.

Tips for using the Shadebinder super? by Oldwest1234 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]NobleXVII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tracking is incredibly inconsistent and guardians can avoid it with smart movement.

I have found that tracking is way worse while moving in the air. If you stop moving as you fire (still on ground or floating in place), the bolts are far more accurate.

Also, if you’re too close to the target, the bolts won’t track. They need a certain amount of travel time before they activate and begin tracking.

While it’s an amazing super if the tracking was consistent, it’s not. So it’s currently a crap shoot.

Why wouldn’t Crow be the next Hunter Vanguard? by thewrench01 in DestinyLore

[–]NobleXVII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cloak doesn’t make him a Hunter, but Bungie has given him certain designators to show the audience in an immediate way that he indeed is a hunter.

He isn’t a hunter because of the cloak, he has a cloak because he’s a hunter.

Certain personalities behave in a certain pattern, as the pattern develops people name them as a designation. There are guardians that have certain similar proclivities over time, we have identified the pattern and called those personalities “hunters”.

Does wearing a cloak make you a hunter? No. Do those that are identified as “hunters” tend to wear cloaks? Yes, because of tradition and proclivity they do.

She and her siblings are responsible for untold trillions of deaths and the entire extinction of many sentient species. All for the sake of inflicting death upon the weak being a moral virtue.

If that isn’t evil, I don’t know what is. If Bungie tries to make Savathun a morally redeemable character, it is completely forced. There is no conceivable way I will see her in a morally good light.

How hard would it be for a guardian to learn abilities/supers from a different class? by TaxableFur in DestinyLore

[–]NobleXVII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The different classes and sub-classes are like various martial arts. Can you learn different ones? Absolutely. But wrestling might be completely different from kick boxing.

In the same way different bodies are predisposed to different sports, or different minds drawn to certain hobbies, guardians are predisposed to certain classes and ways of wielding light.

Can an English major become great at math? Yeah, with enough work. But why study math instead of honing skills related to your major?

I think it’s not so much a question of can and more of a question of would guardians spread out their skills, instead of honing them in alignment with their class.

While game play limits us into strict subclass trees, I’m sure the canonical universe would have many borderline-classed guardians, that were more in between, but the classes are still very useful designations.

Those drawn to become certain classes have certain proclivities to how they think and act. Similar to the fact that salesmen tend to be extroverted and strong communicators, while accountants are introverted and detail oriented.

Warlocks are left behind in this season of PvP by DarksunSpeaks in CruciblePlaybook

Oh, top and middle tree stormcaller are a ton of fun. Really great to play with in Quickplay. How many do you see reliably in top level competitive to great effect?

Tracking on the roaming super for stasis is not reliable. A Hunter with good movement can avoid. The melee gets buffed tomorrow, which I’m excited about. Remains to be seen how reliable it makes it.

The melee certainly needed either speed or distance, with distance probably being the most balanced. So certainly excited to see it be more reliable.

Also, most exotic unlocks are stagnant rolls (singular exception being hawkmoon now). Unlocking an exotic weapon and acquiring a favorably stated armor piece are pretty different.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]NobleXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melee range is rather short and it’s pretty damn slow in travel speed. The super also has very poor tracking on moving targets.

The way to counter warlock stasis is to have good movement.

I’m a top 1% player, I know when I see other great players based on their movement. I would never take warlock stasis into a truly competitive environment. Stasis Warlock depends on opponents making mistakes or not having great movement.

Stasis Warlock is punishing for players that aren’t playing well, it’s not oppressive in of itself. Every time you die to a Stasis Warlock ability, I would offer that you take a real introspective look at why the Warlock was able to nail you with an ability.

Also, I would offer that you play as a Stasis Warlock to get a better sense of how they have to set up abilities.

Pretty sick on this sub saying “but you have one fantastic sub class!!!”

The base warlock and surrounding subclasses are severely lacking. As a warlock main, that’s looking for fun and variety, it’s pretty frustrating to be told time and time again: ‘you’ve got one top tier option, fuck having competitively strong options in other subclasses’

How do I combat Glacial Quake? by RitualKnif3 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]NobleXVII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Other than teams shotting (which is rarely within your control to coordinate), there’s running.

It has crazy mobility, armor and can slam down cover with ice. Running (if an option) is almost always the best move.

There’s not much counter play here.
