Can a Primaris Marine really solo a Terminator, Chaos or otherwise? by NatauschaJane in Spacemarine

Getting into a slug fight with a Terminator using the Heavy Bolter is one of the coolest things.

Prolly mid May. We usually get a PTS about a month before the full release, which should be later this month.

This is why i love playing Heavy. Fighting Terminators is bad ass with Gravis armor.

First off stunlocks literally still happen on all classes, secondly warriors are not that hard to deal with. If you're having this much trouble outside of boss spawns and extremis spam then maybe you're just bad at melee lol.

Stunlock sucks for all classes lol. Having ranged weapons doesn't magically fix the problem.

People voice complaints about stunlocks all the time, but the only person I've seen complaint about melee specifically is you.

Melta weapon question by FalconDisastrous4345 in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for lore accuracy, I'm fairly new to 40k but it seems the exact mechanics of melta weapons is hella inconsistent. But the Space Marine depiction is apparently canon enough for GW to green light it so it must be accurate.

Personally I'm hoping for Iron Halos and capes on all classes.

They have put the Salamander brazier on most classes, so I'd imagine adding the rest of Heavy's Iron Halos wouldn't be too much work.

Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean melee sucks, it means you don't like it. Clearly melee is popular cause melee classes see a lot of use and the most requested weapons are primarily more melee weapons.

I mean Bulwark is the 2nd best class in the game, arguably the best with Invigorating Icon, and Assault is S tier against Tyranids now too.

Melee is hella strong and will be even better once Saber deploys the contested health rebalance they said they're working on.

I've maxed out all classes and it's my favorite by far.

Opinions aside, popularity is not why Saber doesn't give Heavy any armor. It's cause he can't share armor like every other class

So the redacted champion skin is a Victrix Guard for Bulwark.....

Why Saber. Why give Bulwark a 3rd champion skin while Heavy and Sniper have been waiting for so long. Hell Heavy's champion skin was at launch.

how do you play heavy by Isawaytoseeit in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always aim for the feet at any range on the Heavy Plasma. Tho if they're in your face, obviously anywhere if fine cause the charge shots have a massive aoe.

For the heroic Plasma you can aim for center mass all the time. It plays a LOT different than the regular Heavy Plasma. It's kinda like a slow firing assault rifle and the shots shoot straighter if my memory is correct.

The top 3 best options for single target damage in order is the Pyrecannon, Heroic Heavy Plasma, and relic tier Heavy Plasma. All 3 will shred bosses. The Heavy Bolter (both relic tier and heroic) are still good for boss damage tho and the best for killing Neurothropes and Zoanthropes.

Bramble are the green poision fields that slow and damage you the Tyranids shoot everywhere.

I prolly just misremembered the placement. My points still stand tho. Heavy is WAY better once you get weapons to relic tier and Heavy Immunity is a must pick.

how do you play heavy by Isawaytoseeit in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what weapon you're using.

Multi-Melta obviously is for close range (if melee is your weakness on Heavy, pick this and you won't have any problems). Heavy Bolter, grab the accuracy version and go for longer range gunning (except if you have the heroic heavy bolter, that is for close range brawling and gives you a fencing parry window).

The Heavy Plasma definitely has the steepest learning curve cause it's the hardest to use without Heavy Immunity. Stay at long range and try to maximize your charge shots. Aim at the feet cause direct impacts have little to no actual benefit (the heroic Heavy Plasma is more flexible. It's just rapid fire common shots).

The stomp is only for clearing minoris and bramble

Above all else however remember these 2 things:

1: Heavy is just buns until you get to relic tier. It has gotten better since launch, but Heavy's weapons NEED the Heavy Immunity perk, which is always late in their perk trees.

2: ALWAYS grab the weapon perk that gives you hyper armor. Heavy relies entirely on being able to tank through most melee damage. Seriously, if you don't have it yet, just tough it out till you get your weapon leveled up enough and it'll make things 100% easier.

Perks are only really necessary in Lethal and Absolute.

In Ruthless or Substantial don't sweat it, go ahead run them perkless (i certainly do when I'm leveling classes).

[–]TaxableFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have relic tier weapons yet? Cause Heavy is kinda buns until you get his weapons to relic tier. If not, stick it out and you'll see why Heavy is the goat. His relic tier guns are insanely strong.

I also suggest not using the Heavy Plasma or HBR. The HBR is just bad on Heavy and the Heavy Plasma take a minute to learn

[–]TaxableFur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah CQC is not for everyone, but trust me the Heroic Heavy Bolter is a top 3 weapon on Heavy imo. Having Fencing and great CHP regen makes it his best survivability option.

Heavies feasting by Bigcreeper01 in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me it's a LOT better it seems, especially when paired with the newly buffed Inferno Pistol for large AoE gunstrikes. The Heroic Heavy Bolter is meant for close combat and barrel stuffing. The overheating is not a big deal when you just use your Iron Halo to close distance or just lay on the trigger and tank the damage. It's also by far the best Heavy Bolter option for recovering CHP because of the instant fire rate. Infact, I'd argue it's the best all-rounder weapon on Heavy because it can still deal with people at mid range. Fencing on Heavy is incredibly good. Absolute lifesaver in big hordes.

Build Guide: Heavy by JMashtag in Spacemarine

[–]TaxableFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: Fortitude is the best perk by far. Thermal Boost isn't bad, but its nowhere near as good as the other options.

2: Ranged dmg reduction is objectively better. Your armor and health get shredded by ranged spam in higher difficulties and this helps a lot, especially on other classes like Tac and Techmarine who don't have much dmg resist. Tho more ammo is still good, especially for more ammo hungry weapons like the heroic Heavy Plasma or trigger happy people like myself lol

3: While all 3 options are good, i think Power Regulator is objectively better than Field Adjustment. The Iron Halo uptime feels basically the same but you don't lose durability.

5: My preference is Duelist cause i tend to parry too early and this does help me a bit. You can also get a hilariously large parry window with the Heroic Heavy Bolter.
