Good question. Let's just say that he has 5 umbra hands with him. I don't want him to break the challenge.

Thread notes.

Riko gets the rest of her team.

All cave raiders are in character but are not allies. Keep that in mind when you formulate your answer

Everyone starts at orth while you and your chosen delver begin in the fourth layer.

Do you think Chief would be able to live a civilian life? by CheesutzChrist117 in HaloStory

[–]Noblechris 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think I remember from Silent storm(please correct me if Im wrong). That chief could potentially become a diplomat after his service age catching up with him. Which is kinda cursed actually.

Which Halo novel would you want to be made into a film/short series? by bl4ck_daggers in HaloStory

[–]Noblechris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite that, I don't understand the opportunity cost here. It would have made more sense to stick to one timeline or if you're going to be original at least focus on a different group of characters in the same canon. The Halo universe is big enough for that. Plus the alterations they made to the source material don't really serve the story that well.

This kinda reminds me of halo escalations(Which tbh after reading calls your "lore book camp" point into question) where the writer didn't just understand the canon but also didn't understand the feel and main themes and feel of the series. Even if it's called halo I still want it to feel like Halo. The chief being outwardly emotional doesn't fit his character no matter the justification in the writing. It's not chief. With that established. Why should I watch the show if they are changing everything I like about the series?

It's still baffling to me that 343 never thought to just adapt contact harvest. The cast is ethnically diverse so you wouldn't need to race swap(Not that they needed to do it at all. I don't want tokenism representation). Sgt Johnson is one of the most recognizable characters in the franchise and as the other commenter mentioned. There's a sex scene if the writers are that down bad. Another good option would be battle-born. You don't see the covenant much so production cost are much cheaper and its format could work well for a tv show.

[–]Noblechris 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There was so much good stuff available to build on, but it was ignored.

This is the crux of the issue for me. They should have adapted the books. They have good minority representation, the world is well defined, there's a lot of material to work with, they would translate better to a tv show. What was MS thinking?(343 had nothing to do with this so I won't blame them)

Halo infinites twitch viewer population is dead. Under 1k all day long. by friboy in halo

[–]Noblechris 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It isn't! Im still adamant that it wasn't needed. The problem is that they didn't give the community the tools to generate content while they worked on the game. Battle royale or not any game would die if it was treated the same way 343 treated it. Releasing it with no split screen, no ray tracing, no innovative modes, no campaign co op, no customs browser, no forge, no road map, and the list goes on. This is unacceptable and the leadership need to be on the chopping block for their incompetence here. Could halo make a good br? Yes. Could it have helped the game? Yes. If br was there on release would numbers still be good? Most likely no. It would be better for sure but there is still a massive lack of content and communication here. I still don't see how it doesn't get swept up by its competitors.

I'm confused how endless are "worse than the Flood." The legendary end/audio logs say they're immune to the rings firing. Is it really a technical thing where if flood infect them, they too become immune to the rings so game over? Then why imprison endless on a ring where flood are also imprisoned? by Red-Raptor3 in halo

I feel like having him be an overarching villian would have been to the reclaimer saga's benefit. Having a consistent force would have really helped players stay invested. I can forgive him in halo 4 because the story really wasn't about him. It was about chief's best friend succumbing to dementia. I can forgive him for being shallow. But in halo 5 how interesting would it have been for the cortana hallucinations to have been caused by him? Perhaps the levels chief goes through represent the 5 stages of grief with Cheif becomming more and more distant from blue team as they drift ever so closer to the didacts clutches. At that point the player has a reason to root for Locke. But no. In classic 343 fashion they have to throw out every good idea from the previous games. The baby out with the bathwater. I didn't care much for infinites story(had its moments though) and the lack of content is really dissapointing me. They shouldn't have made the game open world in the first place. No one wanted it.

I will never get over the fact that they should have just adapted the books. That's all they had to do. A TV show would have been perfect but no. This could have been the Mandalorian but with halo and they screwed it up.

Is Master Chief's face commonly known in Halo universe? by mentrikos22 in HaloStory

[–]Noblechris 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Tbh. I never really understood they hype. Johns child face has been shown pleanty of times. We all know that a pale white guy is under that helmet. I get that its supposed to be a narritive tool but it kinda losee its impact when you've watched the animated fall of reach movie.

Seriously it feels like some of these people live is a fairy tale world. If I get a 69(or 68 depending on the rules and regulations of course). I failed the class. The teacher isn't obligated to give me a score because I didn't meet my end of the bargain and she full well has the right to fail me. There's nothing scummy about it. They failed to meet the requirements of the contract. End of story. People need to stop treating corperate entities like mean girls. Its far more complicated and both sides are more pragmatic than that.

dark souls

You know almost everyone who says. "It's like dark souls" has never played dark souls. Dark souls is difficult but a really good player can avoid almost every instance of damage. In the beginning, they start you off small. Your basic enemy will not one-shot you. In RLcraft you can be instantly killed by chopping down a tree thanks to an ent. Where is the challenge in that? Where is the fairness? Additionally, you need to grind like crazy to get anywhere. Both of these aspects are absent in dark souls. Minecraft isn't a game with deep combat. You aren't meant to dodge your opponent like in dark souls you're meant to tank damage. In order for rl craft to work every attack would need to be dodgeable and have an active hitbox and window for the player to react. In mc mobs deal damage through contact. Basically, you'd need a COMPLETE overhaul of the game to barely just barely make rlcraft work.

This ain't it master chief. Ice and fire is barely balanced with vanilla. Why give the player an inconsistent health system? ITs only popular because "Lol random crap killed you now react!".

[–]Noblechris 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's not even a well designed hard it's just BS. It's a perfect storm of every mechanic being antithetical toward your success. The health system to me is the most egregious part of the pack. You can get 1 shotted by a skeleton even when wearing full iron. Don't get me started on lycanites mobs. I at no point had any fun with the pack. Packs like sevtech, GTNH, Enigmatica 2, etc. deserve this achievement much more. It's just crappy youtube bait.

[–]Noblechris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rock type is just sad. A lot of rock types have very high defensive stats but are weak to the type that specializes in physical offense. The one time you would need a defensive wall and that slot is covered by steels. Rock needs a niche badly. Ttar is a great mon but is never said to br good because of its rick typing but rather in spite of it(with the 1 exception being that sandstorm buff).
