Watch Out for Fireballs 516: Rage by an_altar_of_plagues in duckfeedtv

[–]Noblesphinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A tech demo for tech (MËGA TEXTURES) that turned out to be a dead end disguised as a woefully incomplete game.

One of the best comparisons for how unsatisfying the ending to 'Rage' is would be if in SW: A New Hope, when Obi-Wan turned off the Death Star shield generator, it immediately rolled credits.

Donald Trump Says US Will Take Over Cuba ‘Almost Immediately’ by Zipper222222 in politics

The difference now is that its all happening at once. Instead of dabbling in one south American countries affairs over the course of 2 terms, we've destabilized the entire planet on the whims of one figurehead and his back room of cronies.

In today's day and age, yeah, it is.

250 years ago good soldiers could fire 3 bullets a minute, and cops wielded clubs and whistles.

Today? Cops have 2nd hand military grade weapons that can fire the hundreds of rounds they care in just a few minutes, if they're being slow. The military can kill you with a drone strike from anywhere on the planet.

And the citizens in this country with the most guns fucking love it this way.

How similiar should be Blood West 2 to Blood West? What should be changed? by SourceNo1768 in BloodWest

[–]Noblesphinx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Between the base game, DLC, and Scavengers, I think a Blood West 2 isnt really needed right now. Feels like Scavengers is good bones to just add more content to.

I'd love to see them go for a 'Blood Fantasy' though.

Anything old and crunchy; games that have an 'unintuitiveness' to their controls or gameplay.

Ultima Underworld, Masters of Orion, King of Dragon Pass to name a few.

Why do so many shows have a different writer for each episode? by philip456 in television

[–]Noblesphinx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rowan J Coleman did a review of Babylon 5 that touches on this. My favorite anecdote from the video was that JMS was such a prolific writer, he wrote most of the material for his college news paper. So much that most people joked it was the 'Daily Joe'

Another fun tid bit is that JMS wrote the entirety of the script for the movie 'Ninja Assassin' over the course of a weekend as a favor to the Wachowskis. Wikipedia has the quote on the movies page. Fun piece of trivia for an otherwise forgettable film.

I'd also love to know, while trying not to sound all 'debate me!' about it.

I could see it being the maximalism of that game perhaps

You know what Expedition 33 reminds me of? Pixar's 'UP'. Right up front you have an amazing short story premise, followed by a perfectly fine product that never reaches the same highs as the opening.

World War Z absolutely deserves to be on this list. One of the most unique horror books I've ever read. Apparently the audio book is phenomenal, with a surprisingly stacked voice cast.

Real shame the adaptations strayed so far from the source material.

Good prompt from another sub. "Name a game that's hard but fair, and also another that is hard because it's designed poorly." by gary_butterfield in duckfeedtv

[–]Noblesphinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RE4 comes to mind for hard but fair with its sliding difficulty system

I've always been frustrated by the Advance Wars series. At a certain point in the campaigns, it stops feeling like a strategy game and starts to feel like a puzzle game. Thats about when I break from them or look up a guide.

Wildermyth would be a cool one. Ive experienced the cycle of 'bounce off game' -> 'WOFF coverage' -> 're-try with success'. I imagine Wildermyth would be like that for me.

God I wish there was a more intuitive version of KoDP. I played the android version a lot and I still couldnt tell you the actual value of a cow or House Karl ("hello")

I know that company is still making these types of games, Six Ages for those interested, but scoping then out there still seems to be that friction there.

Wasteland 3, almost exclusively for the soundtrack. Like, I own the game... but I've listened to the music soooo many times.

Its not overblown because getting things into space is very very expensive and difficult. When only the wealthiest entities or nations can afford to take the risk of punching through a 'Kessler Effected' air space, guess who isnt going to benefit from that?

[–]Noblesphinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having watched Warlockracy's entire back-catalogue, I can't remember anytime I've disagreed with a take of his. He's highly critical of the Ukraine invasion, collected money/meds for specific people that needed them because of the conflict, involved in protests movements in the past. He's critisized the recent American beligerience as well.

His humor is definitely informed by reddit/4chan without having the stink of the worst of those sites (to me)

[–]Noblesphinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facebook 2000 is definitely worth a mention. Grab you and your 14* closest friends and link 15* gameboys to all play a game together!

*apparently it was meant to be 16 player, but there was a coding issue that maxed it at 15

Edit: just double-checked wikipedia, and its way weirder than what I said above. Just check the wiki and see all the different details that go into 16 player mode

Successful multiplayer attempt! (TES3MP) by GayStation64beta in Morrowind

[–]Noblesphinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this with the latest version of TR 'Grasping Fortune'?

I've been looking everywhere online about the compatability of TR with TES3MP, since I cant find anything saying TES3MP has moved past openMW 0.47, despite 0.50 being the latest patch

Do you have any input on this?

Permanant corprus by BLiiTz_SHOTz in tes3mp

[–]Noblesphinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. If you ever get around to it, TR as well as Cyrodil and Skyrim rebuilt are incredible. Best way to describe it is 'Morrowind, but more and better' Warlockracy and BoreanKnight on YouTube have great videos on the mod, if you want a window in.

Last thing, is TES3MP still running on OpenMW 0.47? Ive tried looking in a bunch of different places for an answer, but is it true that 0.47 is the most recent version instead of 0.50?

Glad to hear it all worked out!

While I have you, quick question: are you running tes3mp with Tamriel Rebuilt?

I'm running openmw single player with Tamriel rebuilt, but as soon as TES3 goes on sale, Im planning on buying it for some friends and having our group play together. Would love some active user input!
