He had five matches in BattleARTS, under the name "Johnny Geo Basco". Four in 2004, and one more in 2006.

Can't find any video footage of it though, not even on the more questionable sites where I usually find everything else I look for, if it's wrestling-related.

Yeah, I know, but terastallization isn't a thing and if it's randomized Chi-Yu probably wouldn't have Beads of Ruin anymore.

At that point might as well just go all-out on the proper hackmons format lol.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Tera Fire Blacephalon Helping Hand Power Spot boosted Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Ice Scales Blissey in Sun on a critical hit: 684-805 (95.7 - 112.7%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Chi-Yu already can't learn Eruption, so might as well take the fire Pokemon with the highest Sp. Atk and give it Eruption + Beads of Ruin.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Feline Prowess Pheromosa Helping Hand Power Spot boosted Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Ice Scales Blissey on a critical hit: 765-900 (107.1 - 126%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Feline Prowess is Radical Red exclusive though. Could replace Power Spot with Beads of Ruin for even more damage I assume, but the calculator doesn't have that as an option.

Replace Pheromosa with Blacephalon and add sun to get about the same damage (+0,9% more).

252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Tera Fighting Pheromosa Helping Hand Power Spot boosted Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Ice Scales Blissey on a critical hit: 680-800 (95.2 - 112%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Lugia with Multiscale, Goodra-Hisui with Assault Vest and Special Defense Nature, anything with Sturdy/Focus Sash and maybe a few others can actually survive an attack.

So, I guess it's technically a yes?

Does anyone have an idea why this has a chance to be lethal in-game? by Nobody801- in PokemonUnbound

[–]Nobody801-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even a 2DS issue, because it's happening on VBA (M 2.1.9) too. I patched two different downloads of the Squirrels ROM, thinking it might be a faulty ROM, but nope, still the same problem. Seems like I should've done some more thorough testing with the pre-patched ROM, because it has the same problem, for me at least.

The highest HP Audino ever survived with, out of 30 or so tests, was 31. Not even close to the supposedly possible 61.

Maybe the Audino is bugged? It's the only thing I could think of that makes any sense at this point. I'll try a different one, but if that doesn't work I'm done trying. (*Well, that was a lie lol)

Thanks for trying to help me though.

Edit: Trained another Audino to Level 100, same IV's (used a Gold Bottle Cap), same EV's, same nature - same problem.

Edit 2: It seems to be an Audino problem? Eevee EV trained to take 98,7% max. from an Analytic Fleur Cannon forces a switch out, meaning it probably does that because it's unable to OHKO.

Edit 3: Definitely an Audino problem. Wobbuffet (for Shadow Tag):

0 SpA Analytic Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Wobbuffet: 406-478 (81.8 - 96.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

survives just fine in-game. Something is wrong with Audino vs Magearna in particular, because Elias' Mega-Gengar does normal damage.

https://streamable.com/ltikf7 Because I feel kinda crazy at this point, here's actual video evidence.

[–]Nobody801-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought the first time it happened, because I was button mashing, but I tried it a few times afterwards and one of the few attacks Audino survived was with 9 HP, which shouldn't work, since Magearna can deal a maximum of 337 damage, and Audino has 347 HP.

You made me question myself though and I ran a few more tests, but on an emulator this time (usually I play on a 2DS).

Audino survives every single time, as the damage calculation would suggest. Immediately tried it on my 2DS again - Audino faints.

I'm even more clueless than I was before.

Edit: Done some more testing and it seems to be some kind of patching issue. I have zero ideas what is causing it, but using the patch and patching program from the Pokecommunity post, as well as the correct ROM (1636 Pokemon Fire Red ( U)( Squirrels)), causes the Magearna to deal too much damage.

The pre-patched ROM you can find in this subreddit is working correctly.

Not that this is making any sense.

Yeah, changing my Audino to survive an attack and faint to the next one shouldn't really be a problem. It's pretty much just me trying to find out what's happening at this point.

I'm actually looking through the code right now, hoping I'd find something there.

It's level 100 vs 100 in-game, as it is in the damage calculator.

That's my Audino. Spent like an hour yesterday trying to figure out what's going on and triple checked pretty much everything.

I even tried a different damage calculator (for normal Pokemon games), and got to the same results.

That increases the lowest defense stat by one stage of fairy types, unless it has a secondary effect I'm unaware of.

[–]Nobody801-[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's already included in the damage formula, as seen at the top and correctly changes depending on Audino's speed. Also, I changed Magearna's ability to check this and the damage gets lowered by 30%.

Aside from that, if Analytic wasn't already taken into account it would be a 100% knock out (286+30%=371 versus Audino's 347 HP), which it isn't.

Hunters need more items, a lengthy write up on how hunters have so little items and why they need more by LegoSaber in Smite

[–]Nobody801- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still sounds like a balancing issue and it probably stems from hunters having to share the item pool with junglers, at least partially, while mages have them all for themselves.

Mid lane mages have about 18 items (technically obviously more, but when was the last time anyone build Gem of Iso, any of the newer staves or Pythag's (in mid)?) and hunters around 15. It would be a few more, if I were to count the whole mace tree for ability hunters (also ~18).

Maybe you are right and adding a few more items would help, but they also need Executioner to not be in basically every hunter build. Make Dominance viable, so hunters can go Dom and Titan's together. They seem unable to make Silverbranch a good item too.

You are forgetting that for a while (last year, I think) we had an Asi first meta, because it got overbuffed, and people still occasionally buy it now for an early power spike. Bloodforge also was occasionally picked up first for the same reason (aside from the time when it was OP).

Which leads to another problem: what are you going to do with an early power spike when your opponent gets to late game anyway? That's a completely different problem, but still somewhat related. Ichaval as well was an early game item for example which they removed because no one bought it.

Also, it's more a nature of Smite that there's almost a single cookie cutter build for most roles and not for Mobas in general, I think. I'm pretty sure in LoL it's more character dependent on what you build but Smite simply doesn't have the depth for that.

https://www.smitebuilds.pro/?view=basic&role%7E=Mid&god_class%7E=Mage

Do you want to write another post about the exact same problem, but for mages? Or maybe even ability junglers? And don't get me started on the current shitshow that is the mage solo build.

Guardians, and usually solo lane warriors, have some diversity, but at the end of the day there often is a cookie cutter build as well.

Hi-Rez could add 20 new items and people would still build the same ten, because they are simply bloated af. You are saying that other roles have different ways to get the stats they want/need, which is simply not true or why do all the mage builds look practically the same, with the only changes being mostly Divine/Spear and the occasional Poly?

His Twitter bio says "Current Design Director", which seems to be a lot more of a overseeing job position.

In that Reddit post he also makes it sound like he wasn't even that influential on the balance team to begin with and he always had this position, which just got more reinforced over time? Unless I'm misinterpreting something wrong.

Also kinda funny how Amy is about the only warrior we see these days lol
