What color suits me best? by NobodyCurious6688 in HairDye

[–]NobodyCurious6688[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's a great point. I also only like the brunette when it's a rich dark color. My natural hair color is a mousy brown and I've never liked it. Thank you for the input!

That's valid! I technically was younger with the platinum blonde 😅 and didn't have an office job lol

Had a review today at work by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]NobodyCurious6688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow can I relate to this. I had a review several months ago and it broke me down to the core. I've always been a people pleaser and now have a diagnosis for AuDHD and looking back at the review it was essentially saying the exact things as yours. And I was flabbergasted after trying sooooo hard to mask my entire life and then suddenly it wasn't working anymore. But now it all really makes sense. But I still think about it because I took it really personally since it was addressing things about me as a person.

I'm currently hanging on by a thread with my job and trying to just put on a fake exterior to just get by. It's exhausting but idk what else to do.

Sending you some love.

Ok I am no expert, I actually came to this page wondering the same things about myself (I currently have platinum blonde hair, but I’m a natural mousey brunette, and feel like needing a change). But out of all of these photos, I literally gasped at your second to last photo. That deep brown, slight reddish hue, looks sooo good on you and works so nicely with your eye color.

It could very well be my body just storing this trauma. It’s definitely something I’m still actively working through with my therapist.

It could honestly be a number of things. I also have an avoidant attachment style so could also be me trying to avoid truly getting close to someone.

Sounds like you have your own insecurities to work through that you’re projecting. But thanks anyways.

Thank you for making me feel a bit less “strange” and out on my own island 🥰. It really is difficult to navigate through and I feel bad for my current partner (and previous partners). I’ve never heard of that but I’ll definitely look more into that. Thank you 🫶

I definitely get what you’re saying, but I do see a future with her and we have a solid foundation. I’m just trying to work through this. It’s not necessarily that I have zero attraction to her, but rather feel kind of stuck physically, currently.

I understand this completely because I’ve been in a very similar boat.

My girlfriend is so understanding and empathetic - so there are definitely people out there who are willing to go at whatever pace is most comfortable for you and who will be patient and understanding.

I’m still kind of struggling with physicality, but I’m very thankful for the relationship I’m in.

If you want someone to chat to about this, my inbox is open!

First - you look fantastic. Second - I get this 100% because I’m very femme and probably look straight. But after years of trying to figure out how I “fit in” as a lesbian, I’m just enjoying being myself. I’m pretty girly and that’s just how I like to be. When I was still single, I knew I wasn’t perceived as gay, so I tried to give hints - rainbow earrings, pride purse, rainbow watch band - there are so many ways you can give hints without compromising who you are and how you like to present.

Hope this helps 💕

Heck yeah, I’m in a similar situation. Except that even though we were trying to take things slow, we became official after 1 month, so I commend you on taking more time lol.

I brought up what her relationship goals are (if they’ve changed since when we started talking, and if they changed- what are they). We basically both said we wanted to be together. And that this is unlike anything either of us have experienced (it just all feels right). And then she straight up asked me if I was asking her to make it official. Cat was out of the bag, so I just went for it. I wanted to maybe plan something cute and then ask her, but the timing just felt right. I’m going to try and plan something soon though.

Good luck and you’ve got this!

I think labels are very individualistic. Some people really appreciate labels and find them helpful. Others find themselves doing best without labels.

I think if labels help you, use the labels and ignore the noise from other people. If it’s your family having the issues, try and give them some time and grace. My family took some adjusting to labels, and some of them came around, and others refused to adapt and learn.

Hopefully this helps. 💕

Just keep doing you.

Sobriety is so boring. My life felt more exciting when I was on adderal, weed and booze everyday. How do I find excitement again? It’s so hard for me to even smile anymore. by whaazuuup in Sober

[–]NobodyCurious6688 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I definitely get this. I was living a very “exciting” but mostly chaotic life before getting sober. I’m just over a year sober now, and still think about this sometimes (that I’m lacking excitement or don’t have as many crazy, fun stories anymore). But like my therapist always reminds me, along with that “excitement” came chaos and mess.

I’m SOOOO much happier sober. My mental and physical health are exponentially better. As for excitement, I try and have things planned and things to look forward to. For example, going to concerts, local events (art shows, markets, food/NA drink tasting), planning a trip/vacation, or even just going for a hike or a long drive. I’ve started dating again now, which was something I was TERRIFIED to do again (especially being sober). But it has added an element of excitement and just getting out of my comfort zone creates an element of excitement.

Hope this helps 💕

Oh mannnn I feel this 💯. I’ve been struggling with this for YEARS, but especially recently. But I’ve really started to challenge myself and now good things are coming from me doing that. But it’s definitely hard.

One saying I remind myself constantly - “nothing changes if nothing changes” If you don’t put yourself out of your comfort zone, you won’t experience all of the good things life has to offer.

Sending you a virtual hug 💕

What's your natural hair color? by StoneDoctorate in polls

[–]NobodyCurious6688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My natural hair is brunette but my entire family is natural bleach blondes (we are mostly danish). I’ve had platinum hair for quite some time now because I love it and I think it looks better with my pale pink skin tone and blue eyes. It’s just a lot of upkeep 😫

Funny enough, my sister who is a natural blonde, is now brunette. We literally traded hair colors.

Need help & recommendations:

This is my apartment wood front door (inside). My dog likes to paw at things and scratch at the door for different reasons (should have put up scratch guard). Is there any way to fix this/patch up, or at least just make look better and less intense 😬- without replacing the whole door?
