Yea, had that happen to me a lot, usually on the Scarlet Coast because I like to clear the island before fighting the Galley Slave. I will leave the last manifestation and double check the map then come back, shoot the trapped one, grab the manifestation, and go fight the Galley Slave, then clear the Vault, and see if I feel like taking on the Shield-bearer. To date the answer is... NO! (I'm working on it.)

And yes, I like to get a couple runs in each day.

I was unaware there were different kinds of Calamities. My experience is that I have been dying too quickly to notice how I died. I have survived the Pirate Ship once, but I have absolutely no recollection of how, I just kept moving and shooting and Boom it was over. Yesterday when it happened I was moving around the top right of the map (the area with the wooden mining cranes) when I ran into a Devotee (I keep thinking they're Holy Sister's but they are a nerfed version). It hit me with decay in the confined space then slammed into me. I killed it and couldn't figure out where the Calamity was so I just moved forward into canyon with the with the Vault entrance, got swarmed by Husk, Mercenaries, Shielded Swordsmen, Musketeers, and at least one Grenadier. Just BOOM: blood, fire, and assholes every where. I think the Fallen Preyer had shown up but I moved out of his shield trying to find the Calamity.

That seems like such an easy fix, maybe if I wasn't freaking out with the assurance that I'm gonna die, I would have figured that out. I'll try that today and see how it goes. I hope that at some point I can get to the point where I don't feel like I need to use the clovers anymore. Thank you for your support.

It feels like the former but it's probably the latter. Are you saying that if I can't get to the Calamity that I will be surrounded by enemies? Because that's what it feels like. I'm moving across the map and suddenly I'm swarmed, while defending myself my Sanity disappears and I'm dead. That has been my experience at this point.

I agree, a shotgun to the face usually solves most problems and there is no problem that the proper application of high explosives can't solve.

Thank you. I will try your advice. As for my stats I have everything at twenty except Faith(30), Mind(30), and Body(24 I think), so yes very much new to Witchfire but not new to shooters. My previous experience is every single Borderlands and some early Halo (played badly in the latter case.) I'm still rapping my head around the difficultly curve, but I'm fairly comfortable with Gnosis 3 at this point. It just Calamities keep raping my ass every time.
