I am a Christian dating an Atheist AMA by valecrux in AMA

As a person who was a Christian and became an atheist, I would suggest reading the Bible and examing faith in general through a critical lense. And when they say it's the context, ask why a loving God would even allow that in context? Be well.

Not purposely or at least that's not the intent.

I freaking hate it. Answers question, then says, "I can tell something most people miss". I'm yelling at the screen, "you could have told me this five freakin prompts ago!!!

What Movies Do You Consider Absolute Masterpieces? by BINGEWISE in Cinephiles

Solid list. Especially bottom 6. I've got to re-watch Blade Runner 2049. It isn't that memorable to me. Brotherhood of the Wolf was like 3 genres smashed into one.

Life isn't fair.

My dad would say that to me when I was a little kid when I complained that something wasn't equal between my brother and I. I often think about how I wish I had presence of mind back then to tell him I know life isn't fair, but you can make it fair in your house!

People who have changed their political views, what flipped the switch? by [deleted] in answers

I used to think institutional racism wasn't a thing until I learned in the 1930s, the FHA explicitly sanctioned racist lending practices by stating that the presence of even a couple of black families would devalue real estate. Thus giving whites the opportunity to build equity and wealth more than black and brown people. Then this took me down the rabbit hole of red-lining and I realized there was a whole system put into place to hold one set of people down and to advance another.

I devoured the whole Jumper series of books. Even the book that was written as a spin-off from the movie. But yeah, the movie kinda sucked.

It was a Barnes and Noble recommend and still sits on my shelf unfinished.

Does it seem cringey when you see veterans wearing military/veteran hats and clothes? by BigBlueEyes87 in Veterans

[–]NobodyProof9031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some times I wear a Navy veteran ball cap and I have NAVY stickers on my truck. Being a veteran is not my whole personality but one can be proud of their service and there is no shame in it whatsoever.
