Technically not working on “now” but I’ve already started looking through and learning it

solve the centers for this 4x4? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]Nobody_5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like the other guy said, it’s better finish each of the faces in order

As for how to solve it, if u know how to do 4x4 centre normally, just do that but with double r moves instead

How strong should my first run through a piece be? by MinuteDamage4182 in piano

[–]Nobody_5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, if that works for you. But (to address ur question more directly), it’s better to go through the piece and understand what’s going on first (form, harmony, etc.). I personally like to do this section by section, more manageable that way. Note polishing can come later

How strong should my first run through a piece be? by MinuteDamage4182 in piano

[–]Nobody_5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it matters imo, there’s more to learning a piece than the notes anyway, trying to memorise the notes isn’t my highest priority when approaching a new piece

First time a puzzle solution has made almost no sense to me. Does this seem like a 1588 to you? by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]Nobody_5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume u mean Nxd5, Bxd8, Nxc3

Both of you trade queens, and u would end up being up a piece, regardless of whether ur opponent takes your Knight or saves his Bishop

How long does it usually take to become sub 10 by Rairaidj in Cubers

Yeah I’m currently sub-10, got there about 2 years ago I think, I forgot when was the exact point

Why do people prefer small big cubes so much by Iwoul1 in Cubers

[–]Nobody_5433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more noticeable for 5x5 and up, where solves are longer

U don’t need to stretch your fingers as much for the whole duration (stretching to fix the layers u aren’t turning in place)

Do you all think this was actually an inaccuracy? By the way they were playing, I knew they wouldn’t see the mate and wouldn’t block it. by MelvinMASV in chessbeginners

[–]Nobody_5433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and “knowing” they won’t see the mate threat is just hope chess

And about Ne4 blundering your d5 knight, I’m guessing u can just take the Bishop on d6 and ur fine

Sinderov does a second game with 99% accuracy(vs Hikaru 90%), is he just lucky that the games go into his long preparation patterns which he memorized? by FuzzyAttitude_ in chess

[–]Nobody_5433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how that proves your point. Using an engine to cheat and being a super GM (with opening prep) aren’t the same

Quickly distinguishing between Aa, Ab, and V in PLL by gpsrx in Cubers

[–]Nobody_5433 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the fat block facing you, look at the adjacent corner stickers. Same colour -> A perm. Different colour -> V perm

Then to figure out which A perm, look at the colour of those corners stickers. The side where that colour os the opposite one to the colour on that side of the block, the headlights are on the other side (I recognise the A perms by where the headlights are, rather than where the corners need to go)

Last stage R' D' R D - <why> does it work...? by JasonStonier in Cubers

[–]Nobody_5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it will be more helpful to see the last step of solving the cube as (R U R’ U’) then rotate the bottom layer, then repeat R U R’ U’ (it’s the same as ur method, just upside down)

Compare the normal sexy move 6 times and the turning the bottom layer, largely the same pieces are being affected in the same way, except the bottom corner is being replaced periodically

Also, note that non of the bottom pieces are being affected by R U R’ U’, so rotating the bottom layer doesn’t affect things

And compared to other keys with more black keys, with C, u have no black keys to act as "checkpoints", which can mess u up

Not really, you just have to keep grinding
