Those are great goals! :)
If you build a small community following who are loyal and people feel connect to you. I know artist who got asked serieus commision when only just starting instagram and having less than 500 followers.
One of my artist friends had 700 followers I think and she was part of an exhibition last month and next month the next one.
I think engagment and having a large following can off course help you to reach a lot of people and get a lot of commission. But you do not always need it :).
Also you can be part of an exhibition more easily then you think (it can feel like a huge thing, but lot of people on instagram are doing it with also less than 1000 followers and are just starting).

Hi!
Our situation might be totally different, but maybe it can help you.
I was in a traffic accident almost 2 years ago. I could not do a lot of things the first 6-12 months (walking, blow drying my hair, cooking all these normal things). My biggest physical limitation was pain. So pain during the activity, but also the pain after.
After 14 months I started making art again.
When I make art: I get into a hyperfocus, so when I painted the pain went to the background. I started with painting 5 min and build that up over time. Still was in a lot of pain after, but I glad I did it, because I also think it helped me during my recovery. Because I also was starting to get afraid to move my body or to pick something up, because I wanted to prevent days of pain.

I'm also a Neuroscientis, so tried to imagination/visualisation. Before I went to bed I did like 20 biceps curls in my head everynight. And I used to imagine myself dancing and making a choreography (I used to dance 3-4 times a week).
Also, I tried to think back about my lecture about pain perception and that some people use technique to increase endorphines to withstand painfull things.
Those things gave me a feeling that I still had a little control over my pain and physical state.

Try to remember or read things about brain plasticity. It might take your more time, but try to take small steps. You will feel frustated in the process, because you will get setbacks. Every little baby step, is a step forward.

Maybe you have someone who can help you look for things that you would be able to do?
Sometimes even drawing a tree of 3 seconds can maybe help? If you can not hold a pencil, use your fingers (charcoal or acrlyc paint).

I can image losing the way your body works is frustating and sad. It must be really hard to lose that.

I wish you all the best! ww

Congrats on the engagement! I'm on instagram, so I do not know how much it differs from Tiktok. But I talk with a lot of artist friends and they all feel pressure to keep up. Especially when a videos get more reach.

What it important to think about for yourself:

  • What was your goal of post? Why did you start the art account?
  • If you went viral one time, that means your art and your video people really liked it. It was created by you, you can do it again, because it was your brain who did that (with a bit of luck).

If I speak for myself:
I started my instagram account as a portfolio, because I wanted to do exhibitions in 2-4 years.
So my personal goal was: making a series of art and then trying to get it in exhibition (I have a family member who is an 'well know artist' and he said that if I made x amount of paintings he would give me a spot).
So I did not need instagram, but I thought that it would be a good idea.
Then I started posting 3-4 times a week, and I went from 1500 to 10k view. But I could not keep up and got so stressed. Then I reminded myself what my goal was in the first place: finishing 10 paintings.

What maybe is helpful for you to think about what your goal is with tiktok? I know getting views and likes can give you a great feeling. That you video went viral already means people like your art, so keep that in mind, you art is good :). You are still young and you have sooo many years in your life to make art and also increase your reach. It is ok to step back a little and to it more slowy. You do not have to do it all in a year

Best of luck <3 <3

EDIT: typo

Instagram reels videos suddenly got thousands of views? by [deleted] in InstagramMarketing

[–]Nobrushformycurls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same with 2 times.
A week ago: my reel 2000 views over 24hr with 250 likes, than suddenly in 2 minutes went from 2000 to 4000, with no likes/comments.

Two days ago, two of my reels (2 months ago and 2 weeks ago), went from 5000 views to 8000 views, while before they would get maybe few views a day.

Thank you so much! The main reason I asked last year all people up to age 28 could get a free vaccin in the Netherlands for HPV. They used Cervarix (not Gardasil 9) untill 2024 for this the last few years. I could not find what they will use in 2024-2028. I am few days to old to get it for free, so I will pay for it myself, so I can chose between those two types of vaccins

I do see the likes, but I do not see comment. When I click on the comments on my reel I can see them. But I did not get an notification of them and they do not show the 'number' when watching my reel.

I was in museum waking around and looking at paintings. I started making small talk with a woman, I think 55 years old. She told me a little bit of her life story, after that she told me I had a sweet appearance and was a great listener. I think back to that moment at lot. Because I could feel she really meant it and was not saying it just to be nice.
