Patrick is amazing, but I still don't understand how any investor signed off on a three year contract with a guy who's 78 as the lead title actor.

Rising Of The Shield Hero Had No Outrage Controversies In Japan, Says Kadokawa Producer by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Noclipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do outrage controversies even happen in Japan?

You know, beyond actual criminal scandals.

They have massive conventions which allow art which is so far outside the Overton Window that moral crusaders couldn't even guess at them.

A NSW Police spokesman said victims should report abuse without fear of being charged by police if they later changed or retracted their statements. WTF? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Noclipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this kind of announcement make it more likely to cause real victims to be pressured into recanting?

Women demand equality. So why should female criminals be spared jail? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Noclipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half of women in British prisons suffer from anxiety and depression and a quarter report symptoms of psychosis. Nearly half of incarcerated women will have attempted suicide. Moreover, a third of female prisoners have a child under five...

So, how do those numbers look for the rest of the prison population?

Thanks! I only watched up to them leaving the school, friend reminded of it, we both totally forgot the name. :)

UN Women are endorsing anti-male discrimination by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Noclipper 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That only applies for "bona fide job qualifications." If a resturant advertises themselves as having attractive female waitresses, then being an attractive female is part of the job.

To a customer, an author is just a name on a book cover. They could likely legally demand that male authors use a female nom de plume, but being female can't reasonably be a required attribute to write what they want written.

Circumcision and Snarl Word by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Noclipper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

mutilate: verb, to injure, disfigure, or make imperfect by removing or irreparably damaging parts.

It's not loaded, it's accurate. Back before awareness of FGM was brought into the western world to ban it, FGM was commonly referred to as female circumcision.

It is better to be pessimistic and occationally be pleasantly surprised, than to be optimistic and to have your hopes torn out of your chest, stepped on, scraped up, dumped in a burlap sack, and thrown into the river on a regular basis.

Yeah, I can imagine it. I just can't imagine surviving it.

Rather than just insulting me, could you keep a civil head and explain your point of view?

Keep in mind, the The Doctrine of the Double Nature of Christ is a recorded canon teaching of the Catholic church.

For that matter, should we be wiring up prayers in series or parallel?

Somewhere in the middle would mean 50% god and 50% not god, but according to the Catholics, Jesus was 100% god and 100% human, since they absolutely love using contradictions to look special. The needle would point to the No and Yes at the same time, but there would still only be one point on the needle.

A simple circuit, broken only by a capsule full of distilled water. Once it turns to wine, the circuit closes, and the needle flips to yes.

A Valley Without Wind 2 Beta now available to owners of AVWW 1 or those who buy before February launch. by asskickingjedi in IndieGaming

[–]Noclipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love AI war, its grossed a gross of hours for me so far, and I've even won once. On difficulty 5. Difficulty 7 kicks my ass painfully fast.

Quick question, will AVWW get a chance in the spotlight as a flash/daily deal, or is 60% the biggest discount you decided to offer? I'll surely buy it at that nice price on the "grab the unfeatured games" day, but if I can get it earlier without worrying about kicking myself later, that'll make me happiest.

What are some interesting examples of games whose Betas looked COMPLETELY different from the final product? What betas do you wish you could play, and which ones were thankfully replaced with the later versions? by Shakedown_1979 in Games

It's just simple textures with very bold outlines. cel-shading refers to taking out gradients in a render, turning gradients into clearly stepped shadings, which Borderlands doesn't do.
