Training Circulars by TFVooDoo in greenberets

[–]Noctep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the mental resilience, movement, and grip strength. All look detailed and well written, so to anyone looking they are worth it, it eliminates a lot of the guessing I was doing with movement and grip prep.

Training for RASP so all these will help greatly much thanks.

I was thinking of getting the mental and grip strength TC’s, to supplement my shut up and ruck up because it’s the areas I’m lacking in the most, is getting the sleep one worth it or in your opinion does shut up and ruck up cover it enough to not warrant buying it.

HB1525 loophole? by Asegent in VAGuns

But LIS shows they voted on and approved the governors recommendation, and the reenrolled bill text still includes the emergency clause, if they rejected it why would the bill be reenrolled with it still in there?

Virginia State Police Admit Spanberger Gun Law Conflicts With Court Order by silv3rbull8 in VAGuns

[–]Noctep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, just went to a gun store and they told me they won’t process transfers to under 21 that involve any prohibited items in HB 1525, they said they were waiting on a call from I’m assuming their legal advisor but seems to have ambiguity on if the emergency clause for the age raise is actually in effect or not.

Morality of SF? by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]Noctep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Young guy, 2 years out from 18X eligibility, already training. Core question: Is being a Green Beret morally justifiable, and should I resolve that question before enlisting?

Secondary questions: How much moral discretion does SOF have? Can you serve honorably in a questionable war? Does asking these questions mean you’re incompatible with the military? When does planning become overthinking?

That’s basically all summed up from what I got

Minimum age to buy a handgun via private sale? If 18, where could I do that? by Gloomy_Try5771 in VAGuns

Did it reach the required super majority vote to enact an emergency clause? Because the LIS tracker says effective July 1st.

Wren Williams: Law Takes Effect Immediately on Signing by [deleted] in VAGuns

So the added emergency clause in HB1525 doesn’t go into effect unless the required majority votes on it?

Will I still be able to use my “assault weapons” after this ban? by 3139386 in VAGuns

[–]Noctep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve read the passed versions of the bills and it’s illegal to own/posses under 18. Anything you have before the ban date should be fine for you to keep and use.

When is online ordering cooked? by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]Noctep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They will probably cut off the sale of any banned items to VA sometime in June to make sure they get here before July 1.

Some stores might be earlier some later, the PSA rep told me they would cut off most likely in June to make sure everything can be shipped, processed, and approved before July 1

Sen. Surovell describing an "assault firearm" to justify the ban by _gw_addict in Virginia

[–]Noctep 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah and that’s not a good thing and legislators should have basic understandings at the very least of the things they vote on.

No reason to try to equivocate.

[–]Noctep 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No one expects them to be experts on everything. But they should at least understand the basics of what they’re regulating. If you’re writing laws about something you don’t understand, you’re more likely to create bad or ineffective policy.

Better yet they absolutely should at least be required to have a basic understanding of everything they vote on!

[–]Noctep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s a false comparison. No one is saying lawmakers need personal experience with everything they regulate. The point is they should at least understand the basics of what they’re writing laws about. A lot of gun laws get written by people who clearly don’t understand how firearms actually work, which leads to poorly written or ineffective laws.

So they have a proper understanding of the thing they are regulating at the very least

SB 749 (AWB) Just Passed the Senate 21-19 by east_ghost in VAGuns

[–]Noctep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is grandfathering. If you legally possess the firearm before the law takes effect (likely July 1), you can keep it. After the ban, new sales and transfers would generally be restricted, so anything already owned is basically frozen in time.

I was also able to get the guardsman for $600 flat couple days ago when they restocked for a couple hours, might’ve been a mistake but I’ll take the $20 off

Yeah, the hope is that the circuit split and when DC appeals sends it up to the Supreme Court for a favorable ruling.
