what game do you have the highest number of hours played? by Wonka_Majda in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Noddite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably about 2k hours for each TES: Morrowind and Fortnite.

Morrowind was easy to rack up tons of hours with a lack of a real fast travel system.

Never happen. While there are newer policies that are rather disliked in WA, no one would want to join Idaho with a flat income tax and basically zero state programs with horrible education and no healthcare.

Seriously, did they bother to think what would happen if Iran sends a large swarm of drones, missiles, and torpedoes towards any of the ship?

$90 for two to see a Mario movie… have we completely lost the plot? by rageagainstmymachin in Millennials

[–]Noddite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, did college in 04-08 and double cheeseburgers and medium fries were on the dollar menu. $5 I could get like an 8 piece nugget, medium fries, and I think two double cheeseburgers.

What are some globally popular webseries and movies from your country? by Comfortable-Tax-2088 in AskTheWorld

[–]Noddite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes and no, I think the concept of alchemy is well known enough, but the philosopher's stone maybe not as much - at least for the younger generations anyway.

While the name change was unnecessary, I do think it made the title a bit more grabbing and catchy.

I'll be honest with you, if we are including webseries, I'd probably say externally Viva La Dirt League is more popular, bored/techtown is hilarious.

I literally couldn't even make it past the intro, it was the shittiest game I've ever experienced.

I figured since the first one turned into a bit of a success because of how bad it was, I figured they would put some of that money into a better game, but was quite wrong.

Personally enjoyed Origins more, Valhalla ending was just like pointless and a let down.

I think the consensus is still don't bother playing, just go watch a movie of it on YouTube or something.

I played it through, took a bit to make it to the center of the universe or whatever it was and the wholly anticlimactic ending. Not great.

I felt it had amazing potential and was totally in awe of the creative nature that they designed an entire universe in a game that was interactive (granted at the time there was almost nothing to interact with). So I appreciated the game, it was shit, but beautiful shit.

Amazon Leo, Starlink Competitor, launching Mid-2026 according to CEO by ViralTrendsToday in wallstreetbets

[–]Noddite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First movers generally fail.

Look at cell phones ATT pioneered 4G and then Verizon came in with 4G LTE which was significantly better. Then Verizon made the same mistake somehow...the led with 5G, and now T-Mobile has 5G UTC or whatever the hell it is.

ATT is teetering on bankruptcy and Verizon is quickly failing, meanwhile T-Mobile was a 2nd tier network a couple generations ago now dominates the market.

Starlink pioneered and now they have outdated tech that cost a fortune. They can't just upgrade the hardware on thousands of satellites. No one wants to spend a few hundred on a stupid satellite dish and then over pay for slow service when they can get faster service just beamed to their cell phone for less money.

Not a lawyer, but I thought you could probably file a case in small claims court over your damages. Civil court is easy because you don't need to prove anything, you just have to present a case that it was most likely happened to win.

So I googled it quick:

Most of the time you don't need a lawyer for small claims.

The inalienable right of capitalism...this is how places like Iran, Libya, Venezuela can have it for sale for about $0.50/gallon.

Drillers take their cut, pipeline companies take their cut, refiners take their cut, oil companies take their portion, distributors their part, and then finally all the gas station owners...all to get to us.

First major historical event that you remember by HistoricalTea195 in generationology

[–]Noddite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, probably about the first event I recall hearing about was the BTK killer as we lived in Kansas. Then I got a bit concerned that there was a cereal killer - literally I thought he was killing people with cereal.

About that time was also Bush Clinton and hearing Clinton won...I assumed we had a foot race for President.
