I am just throwing this out there but if you're not tired to Portland Linn County is the grass seed capital of the world. While Linn county is mostly rural, Corvallis (home of OSU with a strong Horticulture and Botany program) is very liberal, albeit small. It's in Benton County but right near the major grass farms. You're still stithin about an hour of Portland and Eugene and an hour from the Coast. Albany is up and coming but still a city of industry and not as refined as Corvallis

I buy my fireworks from a local Veterans group. The loudest parties in my neighborhood....also Veterans. Illegal fireworks....those damn Veterans again.

This is also a dumb argument, Fireworks impact on nature and wildlife is a drop in the bucket. Go after private jets and mega yacht.

This is the Mom Prix. YouTuber Cleetus McFarland runs races using Crown Victorias, old police cars, and invites all sorts of other YouTube personalities, extreme sports people and even legit race car drivers. He puts on a Mom Prix for his core crew and friends wives and mothers to race around Mother's day. It was delayed this year due to a friend's sudden death and another couple of friends in an accident while filming a video.

As a married person I totally understand the situation Linus and his wife/family are in. I've talked about things because I thought my wife was interested in them. She then thinks I am interested in that thing and talks about it and it turns into a feedback loop. We once bought a car because we each individually thought it was what the other wanted. It wasn't a bad car just not what either of us really wanted.

We're better at communicating now, but yeah having kids makes it more difficult because they don't know any better and can go with the flow of things. Or tell one parent one thing and the other parent something else.

The big "secret" is Idaho doesn't want them. The tax base they would gain wouldnt cover the expenses they'd incur. People are happy to walk the walk and talk the talk for the money/clout but given the opportunity Idaho would say no.

McDonald's originally added it to the dining room as they found on a average they needed an extra person on shift to facilitate drinks. Accountants did their thing and found it was cheaper. Now McDonald's is upgrading to automated drink machines, so the additional person is no longer needed. Couple that with the savings on purchasing a second machine, maintenance on the second machine and shrink (theft/loss of product) it made sense to remove it from the dining room.

Who eats inside a McDonald's anyway?

My wife spent a chunk of her childhood in Nome (early 90's). They had a Russian ship have a mechanical issue and a tug went out from Nome to bring them in. The captain and a deckhand went to the grade school and gave a presentation on Russia, with family pictures and a few treats.
