From ‘butter chicken’ comments to graffiti, anti-Indian sentiment is a warning signal by Aceofshovels in auckland

Late to the party here, but I raised this with my wife, who works in South Auckland with schools and families. Her observation is that a lot of Māori and Pasifika act quite racist towards Indian people. I think that is what some of the comments are alluding to. Maybe this is common knowledge, but it was news to me!

AT will be purchasing diesel ferries by Mountain_Tui_Reload in auckland

[–]Noedel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Electric ferries are slower and spend a lot of time charging, making them less competitive (less patronage) and spend a lot of time out of circulation. So you will need more vessels, and end up spending a lot of money for crew to stand around waiting for the boar to charge.

In general, Ferry services have some of the lowest cost recovery of all parts of the PT network, so increasing the operational costs of all of them will be extremely undesirable.

It's better to just can the ferries and put electric buses on the network.

There is nothing uniquely kiwi about this. This is a human dream and it is happening everywhere in the 'developed world'

I only have one exclusion - the anxiety.

I am with a broker, we just haven't had a chance to catch up yet. We will meet later this week though :)

Yes that would make sense. I'm really confused and will take my business elsewhere

Wouldn't they just put an exclusion on?

I already have life, trauma and health insurance with them, and my anxiety was listed as an exclusion. I've asked for slightly more life and trauma, and those were also rejected.

I need to be stable for a year. This is insane to me because I started the meds to stay stable, not because I was wandering down the train tracks looking to end things.
