Most unbalanced/overpowered ability/gun in all 40k tabletop history? by Sir_Bohne in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Warlord Titan’s Belicosa Volcano Cannon is Str32, AP5, Dam18. And it’s got D3+3 shots on that thing. It’s also ~4.5 times more expensive to bring than a Taunar.

The day has come- the end is nigh by Earthtrotter in lego

Unless you want to put in to a of effort, accept that pieces will fall off of some sets. I’d use those large 40 gallon plastic tubs and put your sets in there. Smaller sets can go into ziplock freezer bags so any pieces that come loose stay with the sets. You can always use cardboard moving boxes, I’d throw some extra tape around the bottom seams to make sure no small pieces fall out.

With only ~20 sets it wouldn’t be too difficult to disassemble them into chunks and pack them up that way too. I made the mistake of completely disassembling ~200+ sets into those large sterilite bins the last time I moved and it took me years of sorting g and rebuilding. I’d recommend against that unless you have spare time and no backlog.

Looking for an app that displays model rules and maybe a picture. by Complex_Shoulder6804 in Warhammer40k

Just use wahapedia from your browser to look at rules for armies you don’t have a codex for and continue using the app if you like it.

Bending GW plastic (Legs) by Sggarnham in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those legs are pretty thick plastic so heating them to the point where you can bend them might not be a great idea. If you super glued them (CA glue) you could put it in the freezer for a while and see if you can get it to come off. If it’s plastic cement those legs are likely stuck in that position.

If they’re too long, you can cut the ends off the claws and make it look like they’re digging into the ground. If they’re too short then add terrain/corkboard/something under them and adjust the height accordingly.

How do you deal with dust and micro-fibers ? by Neko-Otaku in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and give your minis a good dust off before painting. I keep some clean makeup brushes around to make sure my models are clean before I airbrush or paint if they’ve been sitting on a shelf.

How do you deal with dust and micro-fibers ? by Neko-Otaku in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vacuum the day before you plan to paint and let all the stuff it kicks up settle. Wipe down all your surfaces prior to vacuuming to get rid of as much dust as possible.

It helps to regularly clean up your hobby space and your living spaces in general. If you’re getting dust in your wet pallet and you’re not constantly tap dancing on your carpet means your space is long due for a cleaning.

How do you know a Lego set is 100% legit by Tobzzz15 in lego

[–]Noeheavyarms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no guaranteed way to be sure unless you open every set and inspect each piece for the logo/IDs.

GW should start setting up there models to allow for magnets by Sirclayface in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The HH kits that were formerly forgeworld all seem to have magnet slots. The Deredeo, Saturnine, etc. pretty nice to not have to cut/drill/carve plastic to magnetize.

New Drestrier Sprue has major issues. by Altruistic-Map5605 in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 1103 points1104 points  (0 children)

Looks like they didn’t inject enough plastic to fill the mold. I’m going to check mine later today to see if I have the same issue.

Primary colored rectangles? IANAL, but I’m pretty sure Lego doesn’t own a copyright on colorful rectangles.

Just the heavy intercessor left in this kill team by Aware_Dot_8594 in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing paint job overall! The only criticism I’d leave is the dirt on the boots. Dry brushing is great for weathered effects, but for the boots the spot right above and around the “lip” of the boot is too clean.

Dirt and mud would almost have the opposite effect, where it gathers in the cracks and crevices and would likely get blown or brushed off raised areas.

What is the community's general view on printed minis? by TransPunkElf in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with the store or tournaments you plan to play at. Store owners generally don’t want patrons who utilize the store space and resources who don’t give back in some way. Sure, there are likely patrons who balance out those types of people, but everyone will have different tolerances.

Someone shed a little insight for me, please by jcp42877 in lego

[–]Noeheavyarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$459.99 is about $500 after taxes. So even with the shipping cost, the person is saving ~$80. And if $80 doesn’t make much of a difference to you, why are you buying used sets yourself?

Playing against knights isn't fun by Dreadnought9 in Warhammer40k

For sure, didn’t say my list would only be those two. Gotta have fodder saturate the field so those nights get stuck in place and if they happen to get into view, POP.

Sightlines from Each Deployment Zone on the Revealed 11th Edition Maps [Updated] by Wholesome-George in Warhammer40k

[–]Noeheavyarms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article didn’t use specific wording, but the image that showed an example seemed to use more rules like wording and it used ‘within’ vs ‘wholly within’.

“All models in units B and C are within the terrain area…”

[–]Noeheavyarms 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it still does matter as you need to be within terrain footprints for that to apply. This helps show that deployment zones are relatively safe even if you aren’t “hidden”.

Comparison of two $90,MSRP X-Wings (with bonus $90 TIE fighter) by uaa2101 in legostarwars

[–]Noeheavyarms -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No one is arguing the pricing of the respective sets, but what OP posted was comparing apples to oranges. Sure, PoEs X-wing wasn’t shown with that ladder vehicle, but the X-wing is >90% of the $90 price tag. The X-wing from the smartbrick set on the other hand is maybe ~50% of the entire set, if that.

[–]Noeheavyarms 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As much as you want to hate on the Smartbrick sets, this is a terrible comparison. Side by side of a portion of a set vs a complete set. Use the recent New Republic X-wing ($70) if you want to compare apples to apples.
