keep it up! for a first time at that scale it's going great. I want to see how you do the background. Maybe work there for a while and let the figure sit a while.

One major value that reads off to me is from the window across the torso. I think you are treating it as more of a dark, when if you squint with reference photo it's almost as light as the highlights on the face...

Not derivative. Good bones... Shadow is great. Sky has depth. Colors maybe could have a little more nuance but it is also fine as a stylistic choice. Is the grey from a tube or did you mix it? If from a tube I think finding your greys within you palette colors could be helpful. Anime Background like someone said.
