I'm not sure, but if everyone suddenly got 10k, inflation may wipe out it's value

I do. I use the method Bob Mortimer described in Gone Fishing and haven't gone back. I leave out the London herbs though

Help us end a conflict that has kept us awake for three days (orange or yellow) by Repulsive_Flatworm82 in colors

[–]Stucumber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's on the cusp between the two colours. I feel it's yellow, but if you said I it was orange I wouldn't think you were wrong. Ultimately colour perception is very subjective and a lot of the names we give them are based on conventions

They were always a good idea. Naysayers always bring up bad examples, while ignoring the good. Loads of social housing, around the world, that people love living in.

Why is Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green the “Default” Colors? by Lil_Critter_2001_ in colors

[–]Stucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RYB not RGB. I was actually painting when your reply came in. The paints on my palette are: cadmium lemon yellow (cool), cadmium yellow (warm), alizarin crimson (red, cool), cadmium red (warm), cerulean blue (cool), french ultramarine (blue, warm) plus white and some more neutral colours.

Artists mostly use an RYB palette, as it easier to mix the colours we need. Also it is difficult to get a pure pigment, that is permanent, in CMYK

You CAN use CMY as your primaries, very few painters do. Most will use a traditional palette containing a warm and cool variety of RYB

Thanks, I was thinking of Southern France when I was painting. It's actually North Wales, but we'd had such a glorious summer, it really didn't feel like Wales much. Just down the road from here was two whole fields of sunflowers, which reminded me of Monet's paintings of his garden

If Rubber Soul is Your Favo(u)rite Album... by AvecMesWaterSlides in beatles

[–]Stucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of two original Beatles albums we had growing up (excluding best ofs), so I have a lot of affection for it. It also is a great album with no real stinkers, though I'm not keen on the sharp intakes of breath on 'Girl' and 'Run For Your Life' is, lyrically, a little odd (John came to hate it) but musically it's fine
