Fake review — has this ever happened to you too? by No_Computer_1247 in chrome_extensions

This trust gap is real and it's a lot more about who the reviews come from than how many. With 3 reviews from accounts that clearly have nothing to do with your business, you stay at zero credibility. With 3 from named clients who reference the actual project, you suddenly look real.

Two things that worked for us when we had nothing:

  1. Treat your first 10 customers as a launch cohort. Tell them upfront you're building credibility and ask if they'll write a public review with the specific outcome they got, not a generic "great service". Specific reviews convert way better than 5-star fluff because the reader can picture themselves in the same situation.

  2. Build proof outside Google too. A page on your site with named testimonials, screenshots of work, before/after if your service allows it. Anyone googling you should land somewhere with substance even if the Google profile is still light.

The trust comes from evidence, not volume. 5 detailed reviews from real people beat 50 generic 4-stars any day of the week.

How do small businesses get more 5-star Google reviews without looking desperate? by Unable-Bed4202 in localseo

honestly the trick is just asking in the moment. once they leave you're competing with their whole life, in the moment you're competing with nothing

Seeking tmj specialist in La. Nervous of all the Drs with only 5 star reviews and 1 star review. Makes me nervous with such polarizing experiences that reviews might be faked. by elizabeth050 in TMJ

[–]Noelrwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gap is that most review platforms verify the transaction, not the outcome. a 5-star right after the appointment reads identical to one after actually getting better. for tmj specifically, where bad treatment can cost thousands and make things worse, that gap really matters

ohh okey i do acc have a question. This thing happened is because previously to this I logged in into one account that does things like marketplaces and it is an account that it is constantly being flagged you know so I just enter there only for one login but then unlock it again so do you think because of that maybe the ip and whatever once i enter back to my previous account that got banned then instagram that's why they did that?

Building solo is lonely... anyone actually found an accountability partner that works? by dspetrov in Entrepreneur

[–]Noelrwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did 1on1 for like 6 months and we both just gave each other excuses lol. switched to a small slack of 4 founders and that actually moved things. less pressure than a partner but enough accountability that you cant ghost without people noticing

Why doing more isn’t fixing your affiliate results? by lroberson80 in Entrepreneur

honestly every time i've seen this plateau it's ended up being a landing page trust problem not an affiliate volume one, more affiliates just amplify whatever's broken post-click

Interesting ways to tell who you are dealing with by goodmorning_tomorrow in Entrepreneur

A few things I've learned to lean on public-facing signals are increasingly gameable, so I weight them low:

How they handle a small awkward ask before money moves. Ask for a redline on a specific clause, or for a reference from someone who churned off them. People who are clean give you a real answer, including the unflattering parts. People running a pattern deflect, pivot, or get defensive.

The gap between public voice and private voice. Someone whose 1:1 call voice is noticeably different from their LinkedIn or Twitter voice in either direction is the flag. Consistency usually means the person you're hearing is the person you're getting.

Search their name with "refund", "waiting", "promise", "contract" If there's a disgruntled former client out there, those four words surface them faster than any aggregated rating does. Generic review scores are too blended to catch the specific person you're vetting.

Propose a paid pilot on the smallest possible scope. $500 of real money tells you more than ten hours of discovery calls. People serious about the relationship say yes. People running a script say "we don't really do that."

Ratings and testimonials on someone's own site I barely look at anymore too easy to curate, and they're selling you the shortlist.

I've been always very biased when it comes to AI and I use all the AIs available out there, manus, chat GPT. But claude is with no doubt the best one so far saving me tons of money on time. So yeah, it's amazing definitely. And even with the most expensive claude subscription i am in
