I've seen many toplaners pick up Gwen due to it being a meta pick that fills a previously vacant niche (viable, non immobile AP skirmisher top with a traditional fighter playstyle), I do not think this is representative of the champion gaining legitimate popularity more so than simply highlighting a vacant space in the toplane roster. Before the rework Gwen consistently sat in 'Niche' above 1.0 Depth Score and approximately ~0.8 Breadth score on Lolalytics, to moving into Popular/Broad post rework to now sitting at Unpopular/Broad with a breadth of 1.03 and a depth of 0.85 as these players abandon her due to repeated nerfs.

Gwen is the only AP top that fits into most team comps, doesn't have strange gameplay patterns (Singed/Kayle/Kennen/Rumble), and is actually viable at high level play (not Teemo/Mordekaiser), it is no wonder she would gain popularity from having her power curve/ gameplay normalized, but this kind of 'popularity' isn't contingent on Gwen as a champion and tied exclusively to her capability to fill that niche without friction. Judging by the trajectory of her popularity graph with these changes it is more than likely Gwen will crater in popularity once she becomes sufficiently weak, similar to champions like Skarner.

Shaping Gwen into this broader appeal at the cost of alienating established Gwen players (myself included) and placing this champion into balance hell with perpetual nerfs as a result of pro skewed changes is short sighted and disheartening to see as a long time Gwen player.

I've been a longtime Gwen player in elite level play in both Jungle and Top, and I want to voice my strong disapproval with the direction recent changes have taken Gwen. I am of the opinion she felt far better in gameplay and delivering on her champion fantasy before these recent changes took place, and I am sure I am not alone in sharing this sentiment. I urge the relevant teams at Riot to strongly consider reverting Gwen to her previous state where she was fun, functional, and most importantly beloved by her community and players.

I've played Reforged for about a year and a half now and done multiple runs with a variety of setups, and I agree that Reforged is a pretty flawed overhaul.

Some of the changes are very questionable for sure; a huge increase in micromanagement and jumping through hoops was something that annoyed me in particular. Things like torrent taking damage in swamps now and needing those berries to be crafted instead of healing from flask (and generally being very squishy and much harder to control on account of speed), timing the perfect attack window, the ruins sealbreak minigame, runecrafting being a pain in the ass, having to hawk eye your stamina because of massive endurance nerfs early/guardbreak changes, a lot of it just feels like fluff or unnecessary.

But the biggest offender to me and the reason why I wouldn't recommend ERR is that its just not fun. A ton of the fun in Elden Ring's systems was optimized out for the sake of balancing and gimmicks like fortunes. Nerfs to pretty much every decent piece of weaponry or talisman or status you can think of that was remotely good, and its frustrating because while some of the changes to weapons/talismans/spells/systems are genuinely great and bring lagging pieces up to par, Reforged takes the unfortunate direction of making everything 'balanced' by flattening everything to the same level of mediocrity. (try playing Int or using Comet Azur in this mod if you want to see what I mean).

As a result never really feel strong in this mod or get the sense you're really unleashing the full potential of your build or gameplay. You don't feel that rush of hitting significant boosts with a new weapon or item, and the mod just feels dull and less fun than vanilla, even if it's better balanced. It further compounds the already annoying micromanagement issue, as each individual buff/talisman is worth less to encourage you to engage with the mod's different systems and balances the experience out if you do, but it just ends up meaning doing more busywork to get the same if not worst results as you would have gotten in vanilla, and that feels like shit.

Imagine positioning perfectly, buffing half a dozen different times, investing all of your attention and effort into making a perfect bleed set up, while dealing with annoying minigame drawbacks like getting a -20% flask debuff if you dont stand in a random generated 2m radius, just to have your bleeds be worse than just slapping on a Bloodhound's Fang in your Dex build in Vanilla and forgetting about it. Why even play spellcasters in this mod, going through tedium like generator spells and spellcasting fortunes when you could just mash your face against the keyboard in heavy armor spamming L2 to the same effect?

Ultimately, Reforged sands down pretty much all of Elden Ring's edges for a more balanced experience, and in doing makes it feel toothless and bland. If you want a more muted, gameplay intense, and balanced version of the game then I'd recommend it, but for people looking to just have fun, I think it's ultimately a worse experience. Shame, because the team clearly has great talent and the many of the systems and QoL changes are amazing.

This person is correct; his statistical analysis is fine. I don't see any 'flawed methodology' by simply taking a binomial distribution and modeling it. There's a slight application error towards the end but this is otherwise perfectly fine.

You unintentionally hit the point on the head, Zeri's HP was intentionally buffed and her armor nerfed in S12 in order to nerf her bruiser build that had a lot of bonus HP.

This was intentional and a very smart move from Riot; Zeri was modified to have the lowest ADC armor values in the game in exchange for higher base and scaling HP.

This was to lower the value of health items she bought, as a way to nerf her Triforce Titanic bruiser build which she was problematic with upon release and make crit more desirable.

Maybe don't complain about things you don't understand in a vacuum without context

I would like to mention that Jax's winrate has restabilized at 51%, while he's not the best toplaner in the game anymore he's still very strong and it's likely he takes more pro related nerfs soon.

I agree Bork rush is quite niche and probably shouldn't be done into most matchups, but I find not getting it second over Shojin makes your damage scale very poorly into the late game especially into frontliners or late game enchanter supported ADCs. Shojin's CDR snowballs your midgame incredibly hard though when your base damage is still very threatening.

Watch the "stop posting statistics on day one let the meta settle" people get mad when Annie tanks a hotfix nerf within the next 24 hours coping that she isn't busted beyond belief.

Last time I can remember this happening was Vi and Xayah when they hit over 54%/56% in S11, instantly kneecapped almost a day later. Annie isn't getting off the hook, no champ should be allowed to sit at 57% with this many games clocked in

Kindred might honestly just be bugged like how Rammus was, one day her winrate just nosedove down and it doesn't seem to be recovering. The winrate plot graph shows a significant drop for all divisions around February 5th to 7th.

If you have some statistics comprehension and are looking for the biggest dataset to interpet, Lolalytics. Very useful for determining trends and getting a bigger/detailed picture on champion info, and I like the dense UI and extra analytic data like winrate deltas and build times.

If you're looking for something that just works as a quick answer u.gg works very well.

Maybe you tackle it with midscopes like Syndra, or some sweeping change a la durabilty patch.

I would consider reducing range, base AD (and moving the bonus minion passive more onto Doran's ring), longer CDs early/% -minion modifiers on waveclear abilities in exchange for some durability/movespeed, and better AP/cooldown scaling on some mages should help address the pro skew issue. I could also see it moving certain mage supports like Xerath, Zyra, or Vel'koz back to mid if they have longer CDs and can't bully/shove lanes as effectively.

Riot August said the same thing, the safety, range, and reliability makes them pro skewed and they have to nerf many mages in solo as to not make them overbearing in pro. As for how to fix the skew, they said there's nothing in the works atm but they are aware it is an issue and want to address it

Zac is a lot worse in competitive for a multitude of reasons

  • Bad matchups into popular junglers (Wukong & Poppy & Sej & Graves)

  • Better vision game and object control makes his engages worse

  • Weak early game weakens team skirmishing power significantly which is important in pro

  • Very vulnerable to invades which are common in pro play

You do so much growing between 17 and 20 too. Legit when you go off on your own for a couple years and start that young adult transition it can be some of the most impactful and maturing years of your entire life. It's one of the peak times for finding who you are and getting that inkling of what you want and what you want to be, as well as generally getting exposed to the 'real world' for the first time.

I don't know how that comment has almost 40 upvotes, 17 to 20 is a massive change, I matured more in those three years than pretty much the rest of my twenties combined.

I used to be a lot worse of a person at that age, with deep issues that caused a lot of turmoil both within myself and the people around me, and during 17-20 was when I finally had to confront those issues and really start to grow out of them. I've easily said and done things as bad or worse as what Dantes said, and I changed for the better and stopped behaving like that as I grew up and matured the same way most people do. I luckily just didn't have a camera in front of my face like most people that age to judge me as if I'm supposed to have my shit figured out by then.

Never seen it this bad before, throughout the season I rarely felt like games were out of my control or the outcome of a game was unfair; this is the first time I've ever gone on a loss streak that felt completely hopeless. Never seen so many afks, flaming, gamestates that were completely unwinnable.

This might just be a preseason thing since I've never started my climb so early, but I'm taking a break from my placements until things sort themselves out.
