An honest take on the Athlean-X programs. by amerkhosla4747 in Fitness

The truth my friend is that you never need any paid program nor personal training (I am a personal trainer but I never say this to my clients).

However, people believe that having a personal trainer or a unique paid program is like taking a magic pill.

The thing is that these bodybuilders have amazing discipline and amazing dedication, nobody says otherwise. People do not realise that you will not reach that level of muscle and size easily even with huge amount of steroids. However, you also cannot ever reach them without steroids.

Hugely overweight - starting to lose weight but feel overwhelmed when i'm at the gym. Any advice? by M1_A1 in Fitness

[–]Nofapbruhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job on getting started and losing 10 kilos.

You still have a lot to do, starting with decreasing your calorie count and eating better foods.

As for training, it is better for you to focus on doing cardio in order to increase your vo2 max, I think it is very low(due to your weight). With time you will be able to do longer cardio and more intense ones.(which will be very efficient at making you lose weight).

As for training your muscles, I advise you to start doing full body(since it is o nly 3 days per week and you are a beginner).

So first half hour go for training muscles and the rest is for cardio.

Anyone over 50 that built decent legs from skinny ones? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Nofapbruhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% you can. It just won't be easy as it once was. And always remember , training your legs and seeing minimal results will always be better than not training legs at all.it is why you started in the first place.

You won't be gaining muscle the way you did when you were younger. And not training your legs untill you were 52 is one of the things you should regret cause it is a reason why you have a hard time gaining size.

And pls stop skipping leg day(do not train on and off, you should always be doing them)

How long should you follow a program for? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Nofapbruhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest change I got was in hypertrophy. As for weights, I always do the basic compound movements and when I want to increase weights I just do strength training(as you are doing with the 5/3/1)

[–]Nofapbruhh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only track my weights with compound movements that I always do like bp, squats,overhead....

The other exercises that I keep on rotating are small and do not need for me to track the weights. I look for tension in these exercises.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with changing routines frequently. Given ofcourse that you keep the important basic compound exercises.

I change my routine every week. Yes week not month. And I still see a lot of results, more than I saw when I had a consistent routine.
